tell about the details of your computer so probably we give you advise and suggestions. what is your processor, how much is your ram, what operating system you are using. what cd installer comes along with your computer package etc. another is what are the things installed in your computer, application you are using and lastly you need to honestly answer this question... do visit adult sites ;)

its called system restore. it will not be as easy as restoring a cellphone software to the factory setting. i suggest you at least invite a tech friend to do it for you on the first time. you can observe the procedure so next time you can do it yourself. there are two types of system restore. one is the built in from windows and the other one means you are swiping your hard disk and re installing all application.
re installing system might gives you trouble with other peripherals like printer, modem and other devices that are not built in into windows installation. you will need additional software for it to work or you might be needing to download it.

I'd also like to add that if there is a problem with your Hard Drive, then I recommend trying Hiren's bootCD. It's freeware that allows you to install an external OS into your existing computer given you have a 1GB USB drive.
The CD gives software that can ultimately save your original hard drive if not, retrieve the files you had on before it.
Hope this helps.

I also thought so. full info has not been given. Is the system booting? Is the screen on? Of course deleting temporary files may help.

Have you tried windows disk fragmentation and disk check on your disk drive? Try also to check for viruses, spyware, malware in your system. If you don't know this stuff, ask a computer expert to assist you. Finally, clean up your computer system, remove unnecessary files or system programs which are not needed to lessen the services running in your system.. Also, you can try opening your desktop, clean the inside, remove dust, check cable wiring's if there are no loss contact.
That's all my friend, hope it can be of help..

welcome to mylot. I hope the problem would have been sorted out by now. You must have deleted temporary files, defragmented the hard disk. what was the nature of problem you experienced?
