Do you have to snack on junk food when relaxing?

I notice that I do this. Last night I decided that I was going to take 15 minutes to relax to myself before I got home. So I stopped and grabbed me a plan sunday with crushed nuts and three chocolate chip cookies. I only had 15 minutes but it was nice to just sit and gather my thoughts without anything else going on. I do like to get sweet things when I'm relaxing. I try not to do it all the time because I don't want to gain weight but it taste so good.

I agree with you that junk foods are tasty and they are not costly either, but they are not good for our health.I take junk foods while relaxing, but not regularly.Generally I prefer taking home made foods. But sometimes when I get fed up taking junk foods,I go to the roadside eateries where spicy, tasty junk foods are available at throw away prices. But I do so only once or twice in a month, not regularly.

Yeah it's definitely a good thing that we keep an eye on how much we snack especially when it's junk food. As it has no nutritional value and we would be surprised how it affects our body over time. It's nice to have a treat every now and then.

I think it's just okay to snack on junk food but just in moderation. I like eating junk foods too but not everyday, maybe just once a week.

I agree we should eat these types of food in moderation. It's not healthy to those things everyday. It would be bad for our health. The cost of everything continues to go up so it's good to make sure that we are eating the foods we need too.

I consider junk food as takeaway food, like hamburgers, chips etc... snack food I consider as healthy in moderation for example a couple of chocolate biscuits, or a bag of crisps or a bowl of ice cream, these I eat when I am relaxing playing Cityville on Facebook, the sugar boost helps! I don't have to worry about what I eat too much as I go to the gym three times a week and I am always hungry! I like nuts a lot, but they are full of protein and vitamins. It's when you eat things that have no nutritional value at all or are full of fat that is junk.

Yeah I agree with you. When we snack on food that have no nutritional value that's when we have to be careful. But if we snack on healthy things then we don't have to be concerned as those things are good for us and will supply us with energy in a natural way. My husband likes eating nuts as well, it's just hard to find the unsalted ones at a decent price.

I do this whenever I am watching shows and just relaxing . Snacks are my best friend , I was snaking right before now lol . I am a chocolate and nuts fan also big chocolate eater . Chocolate definitely ease stress and all . I do this a lot people wonder why I stay at my weight but ? I have a family of slim people with fast metabolism . Some people who eat more stay slim because our body is used to that amount of food .

Yeah I agree with you chocolate is great. It's also fun and enjoyable to have snacks while watching shows. My family and I had reese's and small kitkat bars while watching a movie this evening. Things like that is so enjoyable.

Sometimes I can't stop eating when I'm sitting watching something on television. I will sit and then suddenly food will come into my head, and I will just have to go into the kitchen and get a bar of chocolate or something like that. But the thing is, once I've started eating, I find it very hard to be able to stop going back for more, so the trick for me is to make sure that I never fall into the trap of getting that first bit of food after dinner, because if I do I know I will end up eating way too much. I am trying to lose weight at the moment, so snacking is something that I need to be able to get a grip on.

I understand what you are saying. It can be hard to stop snacking. Especially since food taste so good. I need to get some more snacks that a little effort and that I don't have to worry about gaining a lot of weight with. For example with sunflower seeds they are a good deal for a big bag and it takes me awhile to eat them all. That will keep me from trying to get ice cream and things like that.

I'm glad that you are able to take time and sit in your garden and relax. Coffee is so good. I too enjoy having a cup of coffee. I had one this morning. As I was trying to get work done online. Yeah it's important that we maintain our health so that we are able to get done all that we need too.

Eating junk food is not advisable. However, eating once in a while maybe won't hurt us. We just need to drink plenty of water after eating junk food. I seldom eat junk food. When I'm only craving for it. They taste delicious so wec an't stop eating them. We just have to limit so that we will not get addicted.

It's a good thing that you seldom eat junk food. It isn't that healthy for us. It does taste good though and that is why so many people prefer to eat it and it's usually cheaper than a lot of healthier food snacks. It's better for our health if we limit the amount that we eat.

Yup! Especially on days where I've tried to be good and eat healthy meals and snacks all day--then I will absolutely crave chocolate or chips or something right before I go to bed, when I am snuggled up and comfy reading my book. And then I can't sleep until I get something. . .I also tend to snack when I am writing something lengthy, although then usually I am better at making myself a healthier snack--but not always!

Most people associate "snacks" with "junk food" that's why I guess it started to earn its image like that. You see they taste good and just so easy to get ahold of with minimal preparation.
But of course there are those "healthier" alternatives; like instead of snacking on ice cream, reach for a yogurt instead. It's actually a choice although it is hard to break once it has become a habit. And...I'm also guilty on this.

I completely agree with you. Snacks taste so good and they are very inexpensive. Compared to trying to buy some type of healthy snack doesn't taste as good. Yeah it's important to be balanced. We don't want to go over board but we don't have to deprive ourselves either.
