what is your gauge in being successful?

My friends always tell me to get a masters or doctorate degree so that I will be successful,and get a higher paying job or an additional honor to myself. But as a mother who still have kids in school, I felt being so selfish in pursuing such endeavor since I still have an obligation to them and I am afraid I won't be around if they need me. And for me, being successful can't be measured with what is your status in life, but how yoit.u lived

Why do you worry about it and what your friend told you? Do not rely on self effort but seek Him and His righteousness.
Jesus never teaches us to worry about our future, in fact, He teaches us to pray to God for our DAILY bread. He never asks us to pray for MONTHLY bread or YEARLY for He knows it all and has planned all good things for you.
Read Matthew 6:25-34 and it will answer you :)

Success is the measure of how far you are in achieving your goals. It does not mean that you have to finish schooling or getting a high paying job or being the most popular person in the world. You can even achieve success by just being with your kids if your goal is to be there when they needed you the most.
What makes life a wonderful thing to live in is the goals that you set for yourself to achieve. When you achieve them, then that is the time when you can really say that you are successful.
My goal in life is to reach financial freedom so that I can provide my family a life that they needed and deserve without having to sacrifice my time and freedom. Many people are rich but at the same time poor. What I mean is most people don't have time for what's really important anymore because they are focused on earning themselves money to feed themselves and their family. And I don't want that to happen to me and my family. For others, it seems that this goal is impossible but no goal is a real goal without a challenge behind it, right? Set your goal not on people or things but on ideals.
