Which souvenirs do the tourists buy when they visit your area? Is your area famous for a special type of souvenirs? Which kinds of souvenirs would you recommend from your area?
Today when I was driving around on my island I saw a shop where they sell trolls made from stones (see the picture) Those trolls were a popular souvenirs from my island in the past, but today we don't see them that often anymore. Different kinds of ceramics are also a popular souvenir and there are many small shops where you can buy ceramics. We have many art galleries and the some of the tourists also visit those art galleries.

I don't think it is weird to collect elephants. I collect rabbits I keep rabbits as pets and when I visit a new place I like to buy souvenirs with rabbits. I haven't bought many sweatshirts abroad, but I have bought a couple of t-shirt for instance a very nice t-shirt from Bratislava in Slovakia. I am going to Asia soon and I look to seeing what kind of souvenirs I can buy there. I also want to buy presents for my family and my friends, but I haven't decided what I am going to buy.

Thanks, I used to have pet rabbits, they are so cute. I cant have them where i live now, i wish i could have one though. I have never traveled to other countries, I've been to other states not real far away ones though. I think 14 hours in the longest ive traveled to another place that was to the beach one year. I love swearshirts from the beach or amusement parks. I like my elephants too lol.

From the Isle of Wight containers with colored sand are popular from an area known as The Needles. Where I live is the South West and fudge in a box with a postcard of a west country cottage is popular. They have costume dolls from England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. Postcards are low cost and most tourists likes to buy them.
I have a collection of costume dolls from around the world. In Jordan I got a couple of mini jugs filled with colored sand from Petra. I have got model houses and one is a Swiss chalet musical one. I like the English teapot cottage and the Kent oast house. I have got a large wooden giraffe from Kenya.

I used to have a small collection of costume dolls from different countries, but I wasn't able to keep them when I moved and today I don't collect costume dolls anymore. I can imagine that you have a large collection of costume dolls since you already visited a lot of different countries. I also enjoyed hearing about your other souvenirs from around the world. Yes, postcards are popular and many tourists like to buy them when they visit a new place. I used to collect postcards from the around the world and I had many different ones, but I gave them away to a friend who also collects postcards.

Tourists buy ceramics that have the name of the place, or a ceramic with something charactaristic of the place. Everywhere you go you will find the same magnets with different names. Even in Prague, it was the same. Of course there are some items like traditional flutes or other stuff used by locals. It depends on the place. If you go to an island you will find items used by fishermen. If you go to the mountains you will find items used by locals, sheperds etc.

That sounds interesting. I would like to see the aeolian bells that they sell in your area. I hope to visit your country in the future. It is one of the countries on my travel wish list. When I visit a new place I think that it is interesting to visit the shops and have a look at the typical things that they are selling. I want to pick out some souvenirs for myself and some souvenirs for my friends and my family.

I live close to London, and there are sooooo many souvenirs that can be bought. Union Jack t-shirts, Big Ben, anything that has a London landmark on it, from pens, to mugs, clothes, hats, you name it! We have Art Galleries too which are famous. Oxford Street has loads of tourist shops. Postcards are probably the most popular, to be sent home to friends and relatives or as a keepsake. Some people like to go to the popular shops like Harrods and Selfridges and carry out the bags. When I go to other countries I used to collect souvenirs but I got sooo many that I ended up giving them away. I think the best thing is postcards because they don't take up so much room in your luggage when you travel back home!

I would get some of those trolls if I get to visit your place.
Here, in our place, particularly in Cebu, Philippines, tourists buy wood crafts, shell crafts, and guitars. The place is quite famous for it. There are also a lot of delicacies like dried mangoes, dried fish and squid that many tourists love.

well, in my opinion the best souvenirs the tourist will buy, are the special famous things for the area, like for my country you can get the send roses in the south,or some and some defferents things of ceramics like nomades or camels withc is related to the area, and for exempl in the center where I live, the best that you can get is silver jewlerys or pottery. well for me i have a colection, for every country that i visited I get something form there, like ceramics knight from york, and miniature big ben and famous cab from london, and some pottry and ceramics worriers from istanbol, and had a hand made wood bison from poland, you know all articals from the special area in the best souvenirs, and I would be happy to get trolls made from stones, i realy liked them they must complite my colection.;)
