It seems that Mayor Emanuel is upset with Chick-Fl-A because the owner said he believes in traditional family values and is opposed to gay marriage. Mr Cathy has never refused to hire a gay nor has he refused to serve one but his values are right for Chicago.
Go forward a few days and Mayor Emanuel is asking Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan to come to Chicago and help reduce the crime and killing spree that has been seen in the past few years. Louis Farrakhan is an outspoken critic of the Jewish People and Israel. He blames the problems of the world on the Jewish people. The fact that Mayor Emanuel is welcoming him with open arms and the Mayor has previously stated that Chick-Fl-A is not welcome because they don't share Chicago values must mean that Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan values are right for Chicago.

The mayor is pandering to a select group. Support for gay rights is growing and in many areas it's the minority of the population who believe in the concept of "traditional marriage". The cunning politician will see this and captilize on it, it's only a bonus if he or she happens to agree. The smart politican will keep their mouth shut. The dumb one will be honest and either agree, or agree to disagree.
This whole Chic-fil-a fiasco is stupid. I can't wait until America forgets about it and resumes keeping up with the Kardashians...or whoever is popular in pop culture these days.

This is what happens when a politician becomes more concerned with the different parts of society than with the whole society. What happens is that there is fighting between the different groups and the politician keep getting re elected by promising different things to the different groups. The Politician wins and the people lose.

i wonder if this mayor has thought this through or not. the fact that he would deem one suitable and the other not seems sort of odd to me. perhaps the mayor has not read his history books. seems like there was another gentleman back in history that blamed all the world's problems on the Jews. We all know how that ended.

To the Mayor politics and power trump everything. Attacking Chick-Fl-A was to please his base. Bringing Minister Farrakhan to help with the crime in Chicago will result in blaming someone else for the problems and the answer is more government and more money. The answer to liberals is always more government and more money.

Wow!! I wonder what the Jewish communities are thinking about all of this. Because unless the area has changed a lot, there are a lot of Jews in that area. But anymore nothing would surprise me about IL. Personally since Obama came from there, and some of his standings on things, etc. it makes you wonder just what is next.
