It's been 4 days now that my niece is not going to school since Monday due to bad weather and her teacher text us that class is also cancelled again today until tomorrow. My niece is very upset when we told her about it and almost cry because she miss her school and friends so much. To makes her happy I asked her to think for what kind of snack she want to eat this afternoon and were going to buy all the ingredient in the grocery later and I will teach her how to cook. She is very excited and looking forward to learn. I am very happy when I saw her cute smile at least now she have something to do aside from reading, writing and video games.
How about you my dear friends? What are the things that you do to makes your kids happy when they stay home and no class? Have a nice day!

Strange, I thought children would be happy and excited whenever there is no school. The kids I have known always complaint about having to go to school. No time to have fun etc. So I would not have to think of some way to make them happy because they already are happy. What you do with your niece is pretty good to pass some time happily. I believe she would forget about school doing those stuff.

Before when she is living with my parents house she is happy and excited whenever there is no class but because of the influences of my husband she loves to go to school now and I can see that she is really doing her best to study hard. She really enjoy the school and most of her friends and classmates are very kind to her maybe that's the reason why she little bit upset. I want to teach her on how to cook like what my mother and grandmother do when I was in her age.

I was never happy to stay at home. I like school very much and we had attendance prizes on prize giving day and that boosted me and I always won the attendance prize for 100% attendance. When there was bad weather, I would go to school because sometimes teachers used to take attendance and then they will send everyone home if the attendance is less than 50%. have a wonderful day.

get involved in and its still a learning experience...
I don't have any small children around and its been so long
since there has been....Lucky Me....!!!!!1

Were experiencing bad weather here in our country because of typhoon, and most of the main streets are flooded and not passable. I am glad that she likes cooking and I think its aright time to involved her in preparing simple snacks.

We have the same situation here since Monday my daughter did not go to school, most of the time she was sleeping and playing with our dog. We watch movies and clean the house. She's a teenager now and she has her own likes that's why I let her be.

She already finished all her school assignments including her assignment to my husband since he also giving her some problem solving in math. I wish my dogs are here too so that we can play with them. Thanks

I feel so sorry that you are having a bad day due to the bad weather. Here, when my sister's kids feel sad, it is easy to make them feel happy. Let them eat what they want or play games with them. It just whether we allowed them to do so or not. I would prefer play games with them than letting them eat unhealthy food.(^^)(^^)

Play with them especially to our favorite video games. There are some video games that are educational and entertaining as well. Also, teaching them how to draw and write. And most of all, anything that interests them, as long as it is educational and no harm will be obtained. Thanks

My nephew enjoys playing the games i downloaded in laptop, i carefully choose games that help develop his mental skills. There are just times that I can't get off with the game and he stays as a spectator..hehe..Sometimes I wish these kids will just play the same old stuffs- patintero, sipa..so i can play alone with the lappy, am i selfish? hahaha..
They love to watch cartoons too and they get mad if i keep on asking who are they watching..tsk..kids..they're better off to school..

She also loves to play patintero, sipa and piko in our province but now here in the city its very impossible to play that stuff because of limited space. Thank you for sharing.

Before she also lives far away from us, but since last year she decided to stay with us here in the city. My two nephew also far away from me but made sure to visit them every month. I think she also hated stay home but now that she's going to learn how to cook she will love to stay home and cook with me.

When my kid siblings have been home for too long, they start to get antsy and picking fights against each other. To keep them from getting bored and crabby, we put on some movies they haven't seen and cook their favorite popcorn and pasta. That should keep them occupied for 2-4 hours. We can also go to malls for arcades and then eat out, which is kinda more expensive but the last resort for us.
