Before leaving the house going to work this morning, I had a chance to glimpsed in the news for a while and saw the live news break about how Manila bay turn into sea of garbage. Due to typhoon Gener that hit almost a week now that really cause heavy rains, strong winds and floods in some areas.
How sad to see how the huge waves in Manila bay carries those garbages there. So sad that Manila bay was filled and fillbof garbages. We really have to disposed our waste properly especially those people near Manila bay to avoid such thing like this and to avoid those garbage filled the Manila bay.
It happened all the time but still people don't learned enough and still keep on complaining yet they are the one responsible to that. Those people who are around the Manila bay who got affected, so they better dispose their waste properly to avoid scenario like this in the future.

though i only see it on tv , it is a very sad scenery to see. i think there is no remedy for that not until people are disciplined enough to stop what they're doing. now that they have suffered for what they actually made consequences, still they don't come up with that resolution. this is really the harshest condition of garbage and undisciplined neighborhood i have ever seen.

It’s just frustrating! I mean it’s for their own good and yet it doesn’t seem to sink in to them.

That's the effect of a bunch of undisciplined people living nearby the Manila Bay. I also happened to reside near that area and even if it's not raining hard, you could see its waters indulged with all sorts of garbages. It's really a very disgusting thing to see such scenery.

People should really be more discipline and concern enough to their environment so this kind of scenario won't happened again.

ardoy:
You said there was a typhoon. Probably the authorities may take a few weeks to clear the garbage. Even without typhoons some beaches in India are like that only because people are not showing interest in proper maintenance. Also it comes out of culture prevalent.

Well I think authorities already do their part on those garbage but still there are some people who don't dispose their wastes properly that lead to that scenario.

maybe this is a lesson for us people to try to put our garbage in the proper waste disposal honestly there are still many people who cannot throw there garbage properly, that's why there is flood because of the garbage who thrown by other people, who doesn't know how to follow the rules

The weather is really bad here. Good for students because they have no class. Bad for employees because they need to go to work without excuses.

Maybe we could expect it to happen again next year or everytime there is a typhoon, if the government officials concerned will just look at it and will not do any repairs or remedy. It should be a long-term solution for the garbages or repairs or additional reinforcement for the seawall, or maybe breakwater should be upgraded. Whatever it is, it should be done now, not before ao after it happens again.

If you will look at the map manila bay looks actually a catch basin of everything coming from cavite and nearby provinces. That is why Garbages that reached the sea from one of the neighboring provinces would also go to Manila bay somehow. But of course majority of them came from NCR of course. I really do not know how they will solve this kind of dilemma when Manila is hit with strong winds and it is high tide in the bay.

It really is bad when the garbage is going in the ocean. It really does make for a huge environmental catastrophe. I hope the local and national government are quick to step up and clean up the huge mess in the ocean. I know that when a big rain storm or typhoon hits the stuff gets thrown about and the garbage gets sent into the water. I hope it is cleaned up quickly so it doesn't affect local wildlife there.

I heard it from the news today on our way to work. It is said that Roxas Blvd has been covered with garbage and according to news, there are already 50 dump truck that collected the grabage but they are not yet done collecting the garbage. Because of this, MMDA are already willing to ban the use of plastics in entire Metro Manila.

i have seen it on tv and it is truly making into life the saying that goes the trash you throw will come back to you. there were tons of trash that needs to be hoisted and put into the proper place. I hope manila people will learn their lessons because they always get flooded.

4 years ago, the Manila bay was already covered with garbage on some area. I am really sad if now, the Bay is much dirtier than before. I used to walk around there at Sunday morning, 4 years ago. It is really refreshing and fun watching all the kid run and play around.

For me, i think it is good that it happened because now that the garbage is in the street, it will be easier to remove it than removing it from water. and they will really have to remove it because it is blocking the roads. When the garbage was in the water, they might think that it will be troublesome to remove it.

We can't really deny the fact that one of the greatest problem in our country is the garbage disposal. Our government has been passing laws on any violation in the proper garbage disposal, but still there are a lot of people who don't follow this simple basic laws. So when calamities came, such as typhoons, our drainage systems overflows because of the water not flowing properly because of the many garbage stuck in our drainage canal systems. This trash garbage will simply when to our seas, making it our a problem to us and also the living things in the sea. We must learn to be discipline and responsible in our actions, so as these events will be prevented. Also, our little children will have a great clean and green environment to lived on. This is the one of the things that we can pass to our next generation.
