A Batman for Every generation!

I realized that there Is a Batman for every generation. He has become sorta like James Bond. When you ask who is your favorite , you can get Several answers. I'm not old enough to have seen the 60's Batman series when it first ran but I did see it in reruns. I went to see the 1989 Batman film. To me Michael Keaton was the best Batman. But I have a dear friend who was just 1 when that film came out so to her Christian Bale is Batman. Isn't it great there are so many? Do you like the new Batman ? Or do you prefer the older versions?

Yeah I remember the 70's version where the dialogue was kind of corny sounding but still many have idolized that batman. I forgot the name of the artist behind the mask back then. LOL! But I kinda like the batman of the 80s or 90s. For now, I have not seen the newer ones and I think they all are good in the mask and they are well suited for the role they are having. I think Spiderman has that also since I have seen many version of it.

It was Adam West who was the 60's Batman. My favorite was KaPow! I always looked for it. yes it was corny but that is what made it good. It was like the producers wanted to have fun!

Adam West's (1960's) Batman had to my mind the coolest Batmobile..the startup sound of that machine is still in my head! The show was aimed at 2 levels..excitement and adventure for kids, and gags for the adults.I've read of kids who grew up with the show, and not "getting" the second level until they had grown themselves, then felt cheated that it wasn't being taken as seriously as they'd remembered..

To my shame,I haven't the faintest notion of what you talked about. For one thing,I haven't gone to the movies for ages and that over here we didn't import films or television series like Batman until 1978;for another thing,I am not this type of person that keeps pace with times and don't like this kind of TV series.I think that is my son's favourate.Anyway there are idols for every generation.

That is exactly what it means. Do not assume you lost face with me. Do not pit yourself down in my presence! I'm sorry I confused you! I was angry that you were putting yourself down.

I am glad I am not alone.Thank you very much! you always makes me pick up.However It takes me quite some time to understand the "don't you dare".But for search it online,I shouldn't know it means "I will be very angry at you if you do something."

I think Bale is good, but generally I think the actors who have played batman have been good. The only part I hate is that once they become batman, they start to growl and chew their dialogs. :) I actually liked the new trilogy, but thought the last movie was a bit too much hyped for the substance in the movie. Cheers! Ram

I like the representation of different Batman's for each generation , and theyre very differnent, in each way , i like the Bale version the best because hes the first to take it to that direction of darkness and seriousness , and the saga of flims are shot very great wheere as the Forver and Batman and Robin were more comical

The 60's Batman was so campy and just so much fun. Since then, it's been so much darker. Well done, but I prefer the older version that I grew up with. Biff!

I think that they are all good in their own right. But I do have to say that I think they already made way too many BatMan movies. And I also think that the SpiderMan movies were done way better then any other super hero movie. I remember some of the original BatMan series, I liked it as a kid, but now it seems stupid. The 1989 BatMan movie was good. And so were the sequels. I also like the Christian Bale version. But I think it is over kill. And they are starting to do that now with SpiderMan. After a while, they become boring.

It is weird for me to say but this new Batman is Too dark and Too deep for me. I like the Batman Of the 60's. It was Camp and fun. It wasn't so serious! My favorite is 1989. It was a mixture of fun and darkness. But this new one? I couldn't get excited to see it!

Well, I have not seen the brand new movie. but I understand what you're talking about. They did make a serious movie out of it. The one in the 80's was more fitting to the BatMan series. But I did like the original series, it was fun, stupid and entertaining.

My class had this discussion in high school. This was before Christian Bale, so we had the option of Michael Keaton, George Clooney, or Val Kilmer. I'm not missing anyone, am I? Of course there will always be Adam West. I preferred Val Kilmer, but he's gotten so pathetic over the years it's hard for me to think he's the best now. However, I've never seen any of the Batman movies with Christian Bale.

I saw Micheal and Vale and then the second Bale film. I don't see George Clooney films! I tried to watch Christian's first Batman film and I couldn't get into it and I am not going to see The Dark Knight Rises either for the same reason. I like Vale as Jim Morrison , not Batman. Sorry.

It's the same with any character who has had different actors playing them over the years. It's usually the Actor you've first gone to see in the cinema that imprints themselves on you as the Best..Some directors take the characters in different directions, sometimes darker, sometimes lighter. As long as they're entertaining is the main criteria.. I think Bale did a good job in the position..at least he got a Trilogy of movies in the role (so far..)Too many remakes and reboots just confuses things..

Oh! I stayed away because I hate George Clooney but you are saying I may have liked this version because of the tone. Oh Well.

I'm not sure where to categorise Clooney in the role..Would it have been Clooney fans that went to see him as Batman that made up the Majority of viewers,as the ensemble cast didn't seem to get good reviews from the Batfans..? They went with a more tongue in cheek feel, camping things up more like Adam West's than the darker shade of Bale.. (A Batcard?!) As We know,The Dark knight reboot was grittier,darker.. If You liked the darker side, the more frivolous feel of Clooney's might not be your taste..

I love old cartoons / movies but they hard to find online . I dont normally watch badman but whenever my brother used to watch his cartoon I would so I know everything about it eventually and My bf love watching those so I watch them also . I rather the cartoon than the movies and the new badman movie put me to sleep and the one before the last one didn't do anything for me either . I like an old batman with bat girl and Robin but I cannot tell what date that was release , I was very young at that time , But I would rather watch those old version any day .

I think Michael Keaton was a good version. Bruce Wayne as an eccentric millionaire/billionaire has to have a good personality, or else be guilty of being boring. And Keaton fits the character. Bale's version is a little darker, and I'm still on the fence if I like his version or not. One thing though, I'm glad that the 80's, 90's, and today's versions of Batman have the sense to wear their underwear inside the thights!

hi sarah,every1 is entitled to their opinion ofcourse but common christian bale as batman is the best he the best method actor i have seen ,have you seen his commitment he sunks his teeth into every character, and christian bale has done better as batman because christopher nolan has provided depth to the character so bale shows more emotions and acting skills so to me it is christian bale

Maybe that's it. I don't need the extra emotions or the deep meanings. That is why I couldn't get into Christian's first Batman film. I saw The Dark Knight and liked it because of Heath . So Right before the latest came to town, a cable channel played the first one. I tried it but left after 30 minutes. That's when I knew I didn't need to see this new one.

I like Christian Bale best as Batman. I wish he and Christopher Nolan make more Batman movies too, but alas, they're done after the last one :( I think to me, these last three movies with Bale as the title character seems more real, more human to me, a real hero, one who wears the costume and not let the costume wear him. If anyone knows what I mean. In the other Batman movies which came before, seemed to be more comic-book heroes and villains, just.... unrealistic, like a lot of people in costumes and fancy automobiles and gadgets. Sorta cartoon-like. Lol, sorry if I'm confusing anybody, I tend to ramble when trying to capture a certain thought but fails spectacularly at being articulate :P Let's just say that I like the last three Batman movies with Christian Bale most ;)

You make perfect sense! And you explained why I didn't like the first Bale Batman but Liked The Dark Knight. I prefer the cartoon, tongue in cheek, type of Batman.

It was Michael Keaton for me because you never suspected that he was Bruce Wayne or Batman. If you look at him, you would never know who he was? It was perfect. Christian Bale wasn't believable for me, and he didn't sound menacing, he just sounded constipated. Keaton was just having fun. He didn't take it too serious. He just wanted to play Batman. You could tell that he loved the role and that he had a great time playing the character. He also seemed to be a strong Batman. He could kick anyone's butt. Bale took the role way too seriously, and I think to the point where he, just like Heath Ledger with the Joker, was losing himself in the character, and that isn't always a good thing because then you lose touch with reality. Also, his Batman just seemed really weak at times, he didn't always seem like he was really in control. In the last film, it's like he was injured most of the time. As I have actually met Adam West from the 1960's Batman TV Show, his Batman was okay, his Bruce Wayne was okay, but Adam West, the person, is a jerk. Trust me, you never want to meet this man in person. Total diva attitude. I hope that I never have to do anything for that man ever again.

You are correct Keaton's Bruce was perfect. He is just a normal guy with a lot of money. and Jack as the Joker. Talk about having fun with a role. I saw The Dark Knight. It was more of a nightmare than just good fun. With this new one I wasn't excited to see it , so I won't go.

Micheal Keaton was my batman and for a short time Val Kilmer(What a mistake that was!) I liked the Tim Burton batman movies. They were a lot like a goofy/dark comic book. I like the new batman too. It's the more adult batman, more realistic.
