it's a break news for me and us chinese today's morning.London Olympid organizing committee has given a match penalty to chinese doubles player for passive play. the same punishment has sent to the south korea and indonesia.both two didn'y want to win because the winner would face china as a big, powerful opponent.they did lots of mistakes on purpose not to get points and eventualy the regeree had to pause to game to persuade them giving a real match.the 30th olympic games uses a new rule so as to bring chance for every team to choose their own opponent.but this dosen't mean that one can give up one game for a easier one.it's really betrays the oriental
spirits of olympic.for the chinese players, i cann't agree there behaviour.they just repeat the same mistake our volleyball team did in 2002.at least i think so.
also, the rules of london olympic badminton games is still in question.but this not an excuse for the passive play.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?

i think the strategy of badminton games is bad and unreasonable, but i can understand the athletes won don't want to win. i think it is the strategy's problem. i can understand the athletes, they don't want to meet big, strong opponent. that is reallly really normal and can be understanded. but why they don't want to win and give us ugly games. strategy asks them to do that, i think the stratege must be changed

I think it is easy to punish the players and that is what the Badminton association has done. But there are more than a few others who have to be questioned. First of all, the coach whose instructions the players were following, what about him? Should he be banned too?
What about the Badminton association? They have come up with a format that allows players to play this way. Should they have thought of a better format? Something like tennis?
So all these are open questions that need to be answered.
Cheers!
