Is eminem the best rapper?

Eminem has been around for a long time now. So almost everybody has heard his content. I personally do think he is the best of all time. And I have many reasons. His lyrical content, done so many different genres in rap and his flow is always unpredictable. What do you think? How would he have done if Tupac or Biggie were still here?
I'm interested in to why you think...what you think.

I appreciated reading your post. I agree with you in saying that Eminem is one of the best rappers of all time, however, I do not think he is the best. He is without a doubt in the top 10 of rappers of all time in my opinion and he is very versatile as well. However, he has not remained on top of the industry as far as popularity as of this current moment. He is well known but he has not made his self in the caliber range of a Tupac, Biggie, Jay Z, or Kanye West. He in my opinion definitely battles Kanye or maybe even overtakes him four the number 4 spot. What are your thoughts?

I think the part that raises my appreciation for him is that he is so open with what he has been through. Hes like what you see is what you get. He is not ashamed to be honest. He is who he is and thats that to him. He has had a lot of struggles but it has not been anything that would get him down. Jay Z is very good though. Its just different. I see them in different catergories. Kanye...uhm. I am not sure about him at all. My son is in music and I think that he told me Kayne is more commercial, but the others that you have mentioned are origional and self signed. (I believe thats what my son said. Dr Dre signed Eminem origionally and Dr Dre has been around a long time. I have much respect for Jay Z and appreciate his private life. Now one that I think goes on top is Ludacris.

Hi thank you both for commenting and giving your thoughts.
Eminem is slowly coming out of the picture. But look how long he was in it before with his previous albums. When he was the "slim shady". He's also won 13 grammy awards and I think Kanye has won around 12. But anyway, I say he does stand above Kanye. Kanye also had good albums before and then started going downhill. Everyone is mainstream now. Popularity doesn't mean anything in rap because a lot of them speak about things the media wouldn't want people to hear. That's why ludacris, flo rida and this whole Young money group are so popular. The lyrical is just about, women and partying. So simple to write. You d have to focus on the song that em right... along with Jay Z. I repect what you say about Jay Z, Tupac and Biggie. But not Kanye. That's probably why he's collaborated with Jay Z in "watch the throne". Eminem started off battling underground rappers and look where he is now. For me it will always be Eminem. But I definitely take in Jay Z, Tupac and Biggie. I guess I am just a crazy em fan? lol

I don't know the meaning of "best", I like his song "I am not afraid", which is really marvelous and inspires you, and rushes blood in your veins. He has really nice talent.

This is a tough question for me. No doubt I think that Eminem is one of the very best lyricists. I love his work and really adore him actually. I feel something special for him because he is from Detroit and I live near there. I think that he is an amazing person with a non stop drive for a success that he dreamt of and reached. As far as Tupac and Biggie go, Biggie is good Tupac is better. Tupac is like a historical rapper. He was amazing and strong. I believe him to also be a man of faith. His story was pretty harsh as well as Eminem. I think Eminem might have been harder because his mom hated him and his dad was gone, so that makes it very difficult for a boy to be strong and motivated to make something of themself, let alone a famous song writer and rapper. But that very fact is what makes his story so heartfelt.
I actually have him as one of the people that I would just love to meet one day and write a book on. Thats one of my life goals.
I like them both as performers, but maybe a little softer for Eminem. They both are amazing and I guess I like them both differently. They are like chapters of era's.

I am a new fan of eminem. I really agree, this man is a really great rapper. I am not really into rap, but he got me hooked. Usually, the only rap I listened to was Korean (don't laugh, they can do a really good job at it). Eminem is very talented and awesome!

I wouldn't say the Best but he is up there. He is honest in his lyrics and takes the time to say what he is feeling and thinking so people can relate. I could see him at maybe #5. I love his music.

The direct answer from me is that yes eminem is the best rapper.I mean he can actually rap very well.Many of his songs are relatable and are easy and relaxing.I loved his new album and I hope many more songs as I love them and I am sure many others do as well!

When I was a high school student.I heard a song it make me crazy.I'm a Chinese but I know this style called rap and the rapper is Eminem.Then I buy his CD and listen his song everyday.It make me so excited.I know about Biggie and Tupac they were great rapper but they already become the history.Like you ask me"Durant or Jordan who is the best basketball player?".So each people have different views if must choose. I like Eminem more.

Eminem,Definatly.
I get that people all people have different views on music,but i have to say eminem is the best.
I'm obsessed with him.
His music has got me through a lot of bad stuff in the past including depression.
When I'm stressed I listen to him,really helps vent out my anger.
I really think he is very inspirational and original.
I even once considered getting his name/face tattooed on me..crazy i know.
