The event that I like the best overall is men's basketball, since I am a big fan of the NBA so it is a way to get my basketball fix during the offseason. It helps that I live in the USA and support my team, too.
However, there are other events that I enjoy (just some not as much as basketball or I only like particular parts of some events). For instance, I enjoy watching swimmming and track and field, particularly swimming races with Michael Phelps or Ryan Locthe in it (even both), and I am greatly anticipating the 100 meter dash to see if Usain Bolt can repeat.
One thing I dislike, though, is that I have to go greatly out of my way to watch the events live. I have to use a mobile phone/tablet/computer and stream it (requires a cable subscription with CNBC and MSNBC), or else I have to wait for the primetime show for all the important events that day, sometimes seeing them 10+ hours after they actually happened (if they are on the primetime show at all).

Yeah, that's certainly one reason. I think another is that so far, events that have a preliminary round and then a knockout round (like basketball, beach volleyball, volleyball, etc.) are still in the prelims or just starting the knockout rounds. While not as many people may be interested in the preliminary round of volleyball over, say, going to see a swimming final instead, people's priorities will likely shift later in the Olympics as they get to the knockout rounds of the bigger team sports, and you'll see those seats start to fill.

I think the best will either go to swimming or track. I think this because they both give a way more freedom to move then other activities. Swimming gives a huge amount of space to the player
