So tired of scammers

I have been on freelancer.com for a while, and I managed to catch some really good projects.
However, lately I am getting tired of all those scammers who post projects in data processing category , pretending that they have real transcription and editing projects.
In reality, after bidding you receive a message telling you that you have to do captcha work.
They should simply specify that they want captcha workers, and only the interested persons would bid.
99% of people don't do this job anyway, even if they bid.

Herro Pandora
Have u set up a series of questions u can ask to determine if the assignment is valid?
Where are u looking? I would stay with the companies that I have had a good experience with. U might also consider looking for a "skype" room that caters to free-lancers. If there isn't one u might consider setting one up to help others in their trials.
Just a thought

I have my own way to filter and identify these jobs so I don't come to this situation often. Is just that, whenever I scroll through the jobs listings, all that I see I easily identify are scams.
Thank you for your suggestions.

Years ago most online jobs were legit. Today its all different. So many scammers out there. Hard to tell anymore. Even ones that pay awhile turn scam on us. Its sad.

I agree. In the beginning it was pretty easy to find legit jobs online, but now there are scammers everywhere. I miss those days when the Internet was young and clean.

hi there pandora22,
same as you are, i was also tired of dealing with work on the same roof. so i have cancelled out my account on that and just dwell on some sites that i have sure income. although the income is quite low, what important is, i am earning and it is not a scam at all.

oh that's horrible.
may be you could mail the site customer service or write a note of feedback to alert them.
they could come up with some strategy to filter out such posts.
go for the ones that seem reasonable.
avoid the jobs that seem to good to be true.

I am sending a ticket each time I find this kind of projects, but honestly I don't think the support cares to much.

Yes, it is very hard to find a real job on-line these days. I was collaborating with a very good data entry and processing firm in my country, but unfortunately they had to close down thanks to the financial crisis and now I am mostly "hunting" projects on the Internet.

For the reason you are explaining about scammers,i also was very upset with that kind of activity that s why i left that site.I also sent a support ticket i dont know if they responded to that ticket. That should not happen in site which is very popular and have some good employers.

The site is very popular and has a good rating, but lately more than 90% of the projects are scams. The people involved in the site administration should filter the members and projects better.
