Do you talk about yourself a lot?

I've noticed lately that I talk about myself at most of my dicussions and comments! I always write about my personal experience and other facts that I have seen in my life and are on the subject! But I do not do this because I like talking about me so much! I usually write about my experiences because I think that they might be helpful to other people. I think that we should share our experiences with others and also hear other people's opinions because we can get better decisions and avoid mistakes if we hear about similar situations! How do you express yourselves at your written discussions, do you write based on your personal experiences? Or you try to be more objective and see things from another scope?

Before, when I was younger, I don't like talking about myself. I feel like I have so many things to hide. Now I have become more open talking about myself to other people. I feel liek I have nothing to hide now and I have become more proud of myself.

I think when we grow, we also become more confident about ourselves because our experiences in life increases. And that's what builds us and makes us a better person.

I understand what you mean! When I was a teenager I wasn't feeling comfortable to share things about me so much! Then, as I felt more self-confident I started talking more and being open!

No, i don't talk about myself a lot lately, there is not much to talk about base on my personal experiences in the past. May be i need to talk a bit more about myself later like you, if i come to the conclusion my experience will be helpful to other people. I mostly listen to other people opinion and comment, so that i can avoid mistake in the future.

We all pass from both stages in life. Sometimes we listen, observe and learn and other times we share our experiences to help other people or get different opinions and advice! I am sure that you've learned a lot by listening and when you enhance your experiences you will give great advice too!

I won't lie. I like to talk about myself because that's the only topic where no one else knows better than I do LOL I don't talk that much about myself though, however, I do write about myself a lot online because I just don't care what other people think of me when I'm online. It's fine to talk about ourselves if we also listen to others when they talk about something. A person would be boring if he or she talks about nothing else but himself or herself. I don't think it's bad to write or talk about ourselves. It helps us express ourselves, relieve our frustrations even just a bit and help us gain insight from other people's opinion about what we talked about. For people to learn from what I talked about, that's just a bonus.

Haha! I do the same, I can write more things about me online than in my everyday life :) Being a good listener is a great advantage for a person, it shows interest and also a person that listens to other people can actually learn from them. I've met people that always talk about themselves and never pay attention to others. This is a bit selfish I think! I guess it depends on how we express ourselves and what we have to say. It's always interesting to hear a nice story about someone's experiences and to listen to someone talking about him/herself and how great he/she is. There should be a balance in the middle that also reflects the balance that we have inside.

I seldom write things about myself. But I think it is good to write something you experienced, these things may be helpful to others. I am a lazy person, haha.

Haha! I don't think it's lazy, it's probably part of your character to do this. I don't have problem with people that talk/write about themselves a lot, most of them have interesting things to say! I also like it when there is a mystery around them and I want to learn more! Every person is different and it's good to have a variety of people and characters surrounding us!

Haha! Comments really become longer when you share an experience in depth! It is also good for the discussion because other people can relate and start a nice chat! I like your approach :)

I think that I do talk about myself a lot on here, because one of the main things that this forum is all about is being able to discuss things from different view points, and if you tell people what happened to you in any given situation then it can be something that is very helpful to you indeed. However, in real life I don't like to talk about myself and I prefer to ask other people questions about what's going on in their lives. It is good to get the balance right, and you have to make sure that you learn from the people who you're getting information from.

It's true that other people's personal experiences and examples have helped me a lot when I am sharing my problems! So I am hoping that mine might also be useful to some of them! This way of approaching people by asking questions is very nice to have as a habit! People like to see that their friend is interested in their opinion or their life and asks questions. It's good to have balance in your life, by asking questions and responding to other people many great discussions can start and many inteersting things can be said!

I think there is no harm in sharing the experience here. Actual experience. This is better than the experiences of others, which is not necessarily true. I often told him about me here, but some discussion I seek information from other trusted sources. (This is an example I wrote about me ). Happy myLotting...

Hello! I also think that real experiences can make good examples when we want to explain something. They have formed my personal opinions and they can support it when it is shared. Happy mylotting!

To talk to yourself out loud is just another method of problem solving. It is the same as if you were to take notes on something in your life. We are taught to study everything else in this world, but ourselves. We are taught it's good to memorize theories, alphabets, mathematical formulas. However, her are taught that it is silly to study ourselves. Self talk is just another form of journaling, but it is oral journaling. do, it feel safe doing it and be happy doing it. :)
