Agest? Ageism? The predudice behaviour to children

I do not think it is fair that children are treated like second class citizens in some cases. For example, children are not allowed in most gyms, not allowed to drink, smoke, drive, buy knives and guns etc., not allowed in pubs, not allowed to get a job and earn money, not allowed to do anything really without the consent on their parents. I wanted to start this discussion to ask you people whether you think it is fait that children of the age of 12-15 are not allowed to do any of these things. Do you think this is fair?

I think your discussion is in wrong section,it should be in children section. As far as your topic is concern,i think it will be bizarre for any parents to allow any child to do those things.

The word 'children' denotes immaturity and a person unable to govern their own lives. Children should not be allowed to be in most gyms, or to drink, smoke, drive or buy knives. Why would any parent in their right minds allow children to do any of these things. It is bad enough when so called 'adults' do these things but for a child to do so is ludicrous. We need to keep our children children for as long as they be and let them grow up and take over adult rolls when they are able to emotionally. Children 12-15 are not old enough to take on any of these things.
