I am now typing with my left hand only and I am extremely slow. Today my right hand started hurting and I cant even use the mouse. It started in the afternoon and now it's getting worst, I feel that my muscles from the wrist to the fingers are weak and I feel pain when I use my fingers to type. I think that it might be from using the computer so many hours and typing. I decided to watch tv and sleep early tonight, I won't use my laptop any more to see if it will get better. What else can I do?

a terrible news! i hope you feel bette soon! you should stop everything that use your hurt hand, and relax your muscle, maybe after a sleep, you will feel good. but if your hand is not better, you'd bette go to hospital and see doctor, after all, health is the most important. good luck ! feel better soon!

Maybe you should try to put your hands in warm water to relax. I know the situation, happened with me many times, but usually I suffer more with pain in my eyes after one long day in front of computer.

My eyes get dry too, it happens when you're in front of the computer all day! But I haven't felt something like this with my hand. My job is also in front of a computer so I can't avoid it for the biggest part of the day!

Maybe you should try one of those voice to text programs while your hand rests. It sounds like you are getting carpal tunnel syndrome. perhaps doing some hand exercises with weights to build up your hand muscles, so the tendons/ligaments do not do all the work and get thick. Maybe some stretching? Ask your doctor first before you do anything!!!!. While you rest up, and if you have windows 7, they do have a voice to text program, there is also Dragon. You can just talk your posts into mylot, and probably get more done that way!

You need to limit yourself from using computer, also exercise everyday will help you to keeps you stronger and eat healthy foods. Just like me I exercise every morning but also eat allot while my computer hours will starts in the afternoon until 10 in the evening. Just take also a break, you're abusing your body so much and you need to relax.

The truth is that besides my bicycle rides every afternoon, I haven't been exrcising at all lately! I also go for swimming when we go to the beach but I'd like to do something with a program! I am sure it will help with my healt and my muscles. How do you exercise every day, do you go for running?

I'm not taking any vitamines, if I can get better with a prescription like this then it would be great! Now I feel ok, but I'll wait until tonight to see how it goes! Thanks for sharing :)

Try to relax and avoid any computer just for a few hours. Maybe it could help but if not try to apply scant amout of ointment and have a massage. Hope that could help even a bit. Thanks and relaxed for now.

I am trying to strech my fingers and massage my hand, it really feels relieving. Typing with my left hand wasn't convenient at all! I'll still be extra careful today though, I don't want to have pain again!

Watching tv and sleeping early are good way of relaxation. Maybe you over use or strain you right hand today, it happened to me too when I worked in my computer for along time, you just need to rest for awhile and try to stretch it when you wake up. Also you can soaked your right hand in warm water to ease the pain and for better blood circulation. But if you have time you can visit your doctor to seek medical attention so that he/she will prescribed you a vitamins that good for muscles, nerves and pain.

Hello! Thank you for the advice! It feels better today but I just woke up and it's rested! I'll see how it goes for the rest of the day and if the pain comes back I might see a doctor on Monday. I didn't know about the warm water, is it good to relax the muscles too? I'll give it a try!
