Responses are appended with buttons: -positive, -negative, -flag or something. Do you rate responders using these criteria? My query is, if positive button is clicked which I usually do, will there be effect on it on the side of the responder. Will he notice that his response was a positive one, that it contributed immensely to the discussion. Kindly response.

Nobody knows whether their response has been rated positive or negative or how many times. The Discussion Rating System is factored in to earnings, so people who receive positive ratings will tend to earn a little more than those who receive no ratings or negative ratings. Rating has no effect on the person doing the rating unless the system is abused by, for example, giving excessive positive or negative ratings. If you want the person who responded to know that you think his/her response particularly helpful or valuable, then you should leave a comment complimenting them on their response.

As I said, there is no way of KNOWING whether you have been rated positive or negative (or not at all). Many people guess, of course, and most of those guesses are uninformed and wildly inaccurate, especially when someone says that they believe that certain people are consistently giving them negative ratings. Occasionally you can see from the comments that someone leaves that the likelihod is that they have rated you positively or negatively but it is impossible to know for certain. If you have good reason to suspect that a particular person is abusing the ratings system, it is a good idea to send a PM to GoAskAlice mentioning the name of the user and asking him to investigate. If your suspicions are well-founded, he will take appropriate action.

I am inclined to believe that the ratee must feel, know that he had been rated positive or otherwise because the said buttons are there for that particular purpose. I do believe likewise that in the comment section we can post to the best of our ability positive comments. I am honored by your response.

i usually rate the responders with thoses criteria when i think they give benefit / bad info or review. I think they are not notice what people respond for their comment until they open back what they(responders) gived for their respond.
