Are you happy with your current job?

I am okay with my full - time job, but I wasn't happy ay all with my part - time though. I won't mind to be labor - intensive with my job, I just don't like the way the manager treat the employee, which including me in this discussion. I don't like the way to scold people, it was just no one ever smart, except her in this world is the one knows restaurant. From what I see, she was like a frog under a well, and that is all she can see. I won't argue with her, and I don't know how long I can tolerate with her. Someday, I might explode my emotion, and curse her out loud in front of everyone, then I will grab my things, and be gone. That was my imagination in my head, and I don't know if I would do that or not. She just so hateful if you work with her.

I am not really happy with my job right now. I am not exactly in the position to look for another one either. I know one thing's for sure, it's never fun working with someone when you can't get along with them or feel out of place.
I've always been told that when it doesn't feel right it's time to move on, of course sometimes it's easier said then done, and especially in this economy.
Good luck with your PT job, and hopefully it'll get better for you soon.

Not gotta be better, Sometimes, she bring her emotion to work too. Currently, she has argument with her just - married husband, and she express too much anger at work, then attach that emotion at work too. I hate this type of personality.

i don't like my job too, it's too intensity,my colleague and i in design department alway over work for long time almost everyday, that make me so tired and have no extra pay. Sometimes i think maybe it's reasonable for me to have overtime work, as i am a freshman in this business. But my colleague, many are 5 to 10 years in this bussiness and have married, have alway work to 8pm, how could they tolerate this, no basic entertainment, less time with their familiy... I am so confused to my career now, i don't know if i could persevere or not. by the way, i am a chinese guy, graduate for 2 year.

I love my present job.It is not the salary because it is meager.I earn more in my business.I am happy because of the friendship we built and the homeliness of the hospital brought about by that friendship.I would remain even if life is stressful. The place makes me laugh. That is what is important

I can relate with this one as I have had some BAD bosses in the past, and the one I have now is just so judgemental most times and needs to take time to understand. I think personally especially if people that are in higher positions are feeling STRESS maybe at home, or with their job, and being pressed by management sometimes they forget how to deal with others. And then sometimes when they are put in a position of authority they let it go to their heads.
Somehow something does need to change in your situation if she is so bad. Are you the only one having problems there with her?

Hi kingparker! I can say that I am really happy with my full time job. I am a public servant and the people are my boss. Although I admit it is a hard job but I am happy with it. I consider my online job as a part time job. I am also happy with it although I do not have enough time to earn big, enough to pay my internet bill. But still I am here trying to figure out how things work.
With regards to your part time job, If you find the treatment very inhuman, perhaps you could leave the job gracefully. Do not argue with her anymore because this will make thing worse. If you shout at her, you will not be different from her anymore. You can still find other jobs.

I was never happy with my work because every time I found a very unrealistic boss. Every time my boss want to work for 24 hours. every time my boss will forgot that I have also a life, a home etc. therefore our elders said that Jobs are not good even it is offer from your's father side. It mean small business is better than a high paid job.

Hi there... It seems that your manager is a big burden for you, and that feel like a big SH*T, right?. Here is my golden advice: Try to do open discussion with your manager, do it with diplomacy, tell her that you need some tranquility at work, so ask her to be patient with you and be more calm with you and the other employee, And tell her that if she want to cooperate more, you will work better than this. Tell her the logic why she must keep the tranquil at work, so the employee and the restaurant will be more productive and positive, which means more income for her.
The key is openess and diplomacy, just do it, just tell her, it is better than losing your job, and better than angry to her which not solving the problem. In most case 99% will work as my experience. Remember, make the discussion simple, but still diplomacy. Do it at 10am, when the weather is not too hot.

ooo, and don't have this discussion in front of the other employees. "Saving face" in front of the others would be difficult for all you, but mostly you, if others hear your conversation. I have noticed in my 25+ years in the workforce that if you want to make suggestions to the boss, you should do it where no one else hears you. Sometimes ego takes over when talking to the boss, and you don't want to have her feel embarrassed in front of the others. At least that's my opinion.

I am with you on the part time job thing I am in retail and we get shafted all the time there my body is so tired its the hours there it is so stressful there sometimes I go in at 6 other times later like could be 7,8,9,10,11,12,1,2,3,4,5,6, cause rt now we close at 10 week days thru Saturday and then Sunday we close at 6 or 8.So my body and my eyes never get used to any schedule and for the most part the people are okay.I been there over a year and at times i want to leave so desperately and find me something with a company so I can have my stable hours to have more stable income.I know its rough but..........there has got to be something better out there then this.

It might be not easy to handle that kind of manager.. but take it easy...I haven't met that kind of manager for my whole life.. For now, I'm happy with my job, I have a lot of real friends.They treasured me much and I treasured them too.... Hope you can still hold your temper to your part time manager...

Currently I am enjoying my job, already have gone through for my past experiences and some of it are similar on what you have share here. If I was thinking with my past is looking the positive side of it after a long years as an employee now I am trying to be an employer since there is an opportunity, as of now im still starting off hope all will work smoothly ., i decided to be an employer for a change because the challenge is when will I be an employee of my life ?

I had that kind of manager too. She scolded us in front of many people. She made me crazy when I was at work. I was sick of her until one day I resigned. I was not happy to work with her anymore. So, why do we stick to a thing which only makes us mad...if I were in your shoes, you're okay with your full time job, so why don't you quit in your part time job then look a better one. that makes sense maybe.

I'm in a similar situation, except the mangement above the general manager is the problem. They come into the store and act like everyone is doing something wrong(and i'm like we do this everyday when you're not here). Customers have even commented on how everything is going fine until they show up. One assistant manager just cried after being yelled at, and threatened with the loss of her job by a district manager, and just never showed back up for work, forfeiting a bonus.
Unfortunately in this economy you have to keep a job while searching for a new one, but everyone I work with are actively seeking new employment.

I am not happy with my current job but what I can do? I need to earn for a living, I support my studies, and I support my family. What I am earning now is quite higher that the regular employees but what I can say? I am not happy with it. Ehehe! Some say they are happy because of their friends in their current job, but I can say that they are not really happy about their job. Just always keep in mind thats why we are in that job is because to earn a living. If you are not happy with your current job well I might say that you would need to find something in your job that will make you happy. Look at the brighter side, we have a job and the others don't.

May be most of the managers are like that. I left few jobs because of the environment in the office which , i really cant bare, the TL used to be very headstrong person, and other fellow workers always used to quarrel with her, but all people are not like that, there are people who behave with respect. yes i agree, it sometimes become unbearable. and we really dont want to be in that place. all the best.

You can ask hundred peoples about their job and i must sure,nobody is happy or satisfy with his or her job.Out of all these we should have to go ahead in our life by carrying on our responsibilities.
Moreover the liking or disliking,its all depends upon you.The way she behaving you ,try to love the same by thinking that it is a part of your job and as you start it to love once,twice or thrice.it automatically becomes your habit and i sure you start to love your job.And all these also make you suceed one day in your life.

i am satified with my current job.it can afford me enough money to play and from the job i can learn more things,it makes me happy when i issued a problem.so now i don't wanne to change,it is so hard to find a job we are satified.
