what OS should i use for web development?

I will be studying web development next month. I'm planning to buy a laptop. What OS should I use? I think Window XP is not available anymore. Is it okay to use window 7 when doing web development. Because I'm worried in some programming language like oracle, it works best with window xp professional. It's not compatible with window 7. What do you think?

Hi.. I recommended window 7 for web development. It is very flexible and has lots of helpful features.

I dunno if I should answer this but I think I must considered that no one is giving any. First of all Oracle is not a programming language they do have PL-SQL to help you developed database procedural query.
As for the OS, any OS can be used if you are using PHP and MySQL. But if you plan to use .NET then Windows is your choice. Although if you want to go deeper Linux still had workaround solution regarding this.
