English is also a foreign language for me, and when an article is too difficult to read, I stop my reading during a while, and read something easier for me. I think it is better to split the reading of an article than to get a headache.

I am an Indian and English is a foreign language for me too.It is imposed on us by our governments since our independence.I read long English articles in newspapers almost everyday, but I don't have any physical or mental problems.I would to give you only one suggestion.Just go on reading. You will have headache for some time and then everything would be ok.

Well, could it be the additional stress of a longer paragraph? Maybe it is putting extra eye strain, and if you wear glasses or not, maybe time to have your eyes examined again. I know that reading can be stressful but since you're wanting to develop your English more this is something important you must do. Just like being in here the more you read the more your thoughts will improve.

There are no short-cuts. You just have to go through the article slowly.

If you are talking about the just science articles then only thing I can say that you have to try to understand the concept which is written there. then the article might look little interesting there by avoids headache. If you are talking about articles which you have to read and answer in the exams only I can suggest you to take it paragraph by paragraph. as the answers will be smaller

I think the thing that can help you out in improving the skills in reading is being focus on the topic. For example, choose the topic that hooks your interest. By the time that you are reading and you are interested on it you will not be get bored and you will not realize you just reach the end.

Yes dear Paulli, probably you are suffering from sinusitis. My idea may be wrong. You should take advice from an ENT (Ear, Nose & Ear) specialist. My son has been suffering from this problem. Have a nice day.

You can divide the whole paragraph into sub paragraphs. This way you can read the smaller part and analyze. It is better than reading the whole part then analyze. Actually science articles are really hard to understand because they are using some terms that is only use in science. Always keep a dictionary within reach.
