Do you make a guess while reading Agatha Christie books?

Hey there everyone! I love reading Agatha Christie books especially Hercule Poirot mysteries. I find her books so thrilling and exciting... Right now, I'm reading one of her books called The Hollow.. When you read Agatha Christie mystery books do you try to guess who the killer is? Or are you like me, just read the whole story without making a guess... Because Agatha Christie is so tricky sometimes.. Like the most likely person who is a murderer is not a murderer and the least person is the murderer... That's why I never try to guess when I read her books.. Haha.. Before I wanted to become a detective (or maybe I still do). Haha!! I always liked reading mystery books.. but I don't know why I don't like reading Sherlock Holmes.. I know right... .

I used to read Agatha Chritie mysteries a long time ago. They are very good. And I would try to guess but usually I was wrong. :/ I like the very old Sherlock Holmes movies made in the 1940's. I have them all on DVD. As you said, her mysteries are thrilling and exciting.

Yes, her books are good and fun! Have you read all her books? I didn't watch Sherlock Holmes and the only Sherlock Holmes book I read was The Hound in the Baskerville.

No, I haven't read them all. I don't remember which ones I read. It was a long time ago. But I have seen movies that were made from her stories. The one I remember is Murder on the Orient Express. Mostly now I don't have time to read. I'm always on the computer trying to make money! And friends (in mylot!).

I didn't know there were movies for Agatha Christie books.. But I prefer reading more than watching because sometimes the movies are so different from the books. I haven't read Murder on the Orient Express yet.. I just started very newly reading her books. I used to read Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys before I started reading her books. haha.

Oh I try to guess who the murderer is, and as usual, I get it wrong. And she often throws red herrings and make people believe that so and so is the murder, until at the end that person is murdered, so of course she does not do it. Then the very person I do not expect is the one who committed the crime. I had the same problem when reading Ellery Queen or watching the Ellery Queen mysteries. Got them wrong all the time.

The Ellery Queen mysteries. There was tv show a couple of decades ago, and near the end, the protagonist asked who did it and you had to guess. Then at the end, he told you who did it and why. It was on about the same decade as Murder She Wrote and it was based on a series written either in the 30s or 40s. I got one book when the school library where my father-in-law worked let him keep the text books and this paperback was among them. It was pretty torn up and some of the pages were missing so had no idea whodunit. According to the tv series, Ellery was sort of his geek who solved crimes and his father was a chief of police. There might be some that are available on Amazon and I believe there were radio plays. Oh this link might help. http://www.elleryqueen.us/

Yeah, that's what she does most of the time. Ellery Queen? Never heard of that.. Is it nice, too?

Not anymore, I've read them all several times so I remember both the plot and the murderer :-) Some times I also remember most of the dialogue, it's a bit annoying if I watch Agatha Christie films because I notice when they've changed the wording. Very annoying but I can't manage to forget it. Some books are stuck in my brain and probably will be for ever.

I have read a lot of Agatha Christie books and even her autobiography.
