Anyone else disappointed by Dark Knight Rises?

Let me preface this by saying that this was not a terrible movie, that I know people worked hard on it and did a good job, and that, as someone who has never made a movie, I am in no position to judge.
But honestly, did anyone else walk out of the new Batman movie feeling disappointed? I won't get into all the specifics here, but it just didn't feel like a Batman movie to me. It was nowhere near as clever as The Dark Knight, they missed a lot of opportunities for good dialogue and action, and some of the plot choices they made just angered me.
I've been a Batman fan my whole life, and I still think this stands up as a good trilogy depicting him. But for me, the third installment was the weakest. Did anyone on Earth feel the same as me? I'm afraid everyone else loved it.
And more generally, have you ever disliked a movie that everyone else seemed to enjoy, or vice versa?

I don't see the negative side of the movie at all. It was actually a perfect end to the Batman series because everyone gets old and if they're going to follow the Batman franchise, there's another batch - Night Wing.
It was actually explained well because remember, he's just a man. No special powers whatsoever, so if he stays that way forever, what happened to the realism?
I liked the fact that they tied all the loose ends and explained things through action. I was even caught off-guard with the antagonist and was most caught off-guard with the end (don't want to mention because I don't want to be a spoiler to those who hasn't watched it yet).
Don't get me wrong, anyone is entitled with their review of any movie. But I don't watch movies because of actors and directors, I watch it for the film and I think it was a good end for the Batman franchise.
Have a great MylOt experience ahead!

Oh, I don't mind the ending. I really hope they do try a Robin movie. And the one twist you mention was a good one. But the way they...let's see, how do I say this without spoiling...the way they treat Bane towards the end was downright disappointing and even insulting, given how much they'd built up his character thus far. The final battle was nearly non-existent.
Sorry, I could complain for hours, so I wont go on. I'm glad you enjoyed it; I'm glad most people did. Maybe I should see it again with lowered expectations. XD

I felt the other way around, I felt this was the perfect ending to the batman trilogy by Christopher Nolan.
I am pretty much interested in watching it few more times, even though it wasn't as excellent as The Dark Knight, this was pretty good movie ..

Good day Shannon!I sympathized with you because there were plots that really made it like not a Batman movie.Considering also his plane. What was that?I was anticipating for a Bat plane and not that kind of craft. It was very dissapointing to consider the advent of technological advancement in making special effects that they were not able to produce a real bat mobile and bat plane.

The TUMBLER was a functional custom Made Batmobile for this Movie series..I have no reservations about it being an awesome vehicle..it was a highlight in it's own right..More could have been done with "The BAT",though..it seemed to spend too much time on the sidelines, and it resembled a flying ride-on (Bat)Lawnmower!

I am known for not going with the popular film. I never saw E.T. And I didn't see Star Wars until 2007! So when I found that I wasn't excited about this new Batman film , I chose not to go. Now that I have read your post, I'm glad I didn't go!I tried Bale's first film as Batman I couldn't get into it! But I did like The Dark Knight!

Taking a Movie Franchise to the third Movie is always a risk..But the Movie did not suck,It's rare to find my local cinema packed for the 3rd daily showing a week after the Movie opens..Still drawing crowds..it covered the bases in wrapping up the Dark Knight's story..I don't think it's going to hurt TDK trilogy sales in time to come..
Inception didn't do it for Me,but that was down to a poor musical choice...

I was disappointed , I have never made a movie but I spend money watching them and I like a good show lol and that was a snooze . There was a lot of flashy thriller and nothing to back it up , my boyfriend was so excited to watch it and I nearly fell asleep . I have watch all the other batman and this one was my least favorite .

hi,
for my view, i am not satisfied with dark-knight rises. since the dark knight is such a good movie, each and every characters are powerful especially joker. still no one can beat him. everything is missing in dark knight rises. batman looks too weak, Wayne character is not that much interesting. logic less screenplay, batman doing crunches after he loses his back.etc...

I did not feel that I was disappointed after watching this movie. One day my friends and I bunked classes and went to the theatre and watched this movie. We were three in number. All of us liked the movie very much. Even one of my friends started asking questions about atom bomb after watching this movie. I enjoyed very much watching this movie. But I have to admit that the first half was somewhat boring. But the second half sped up and so the boring first half did not make an impact at all. I wish that Batman 4 should also be released.
