...why so many killings in the news today?

It's not just today, it's almost every day that there are killings of some sort. This world is getting worse and worse. Why? It could be the senseless entertainment, such as violent movies, tv programs and video games, with which people are being fed. What goes in will come out. The Bible predicted that just before God's kingdom would take control of the earth, the demons and wicked people would turn people against each other in senseless killings. 2 Timothy 3:1-5 New International Version (NIV) 3 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people....13 while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.

I believe that humans have always been a very destructive species. From antiquity, we fight one each other for stupid reasons: gold, land,money,or for pleasure. Let's remember the famous arena fights in Ancient Rome. The only thing is that now there is a new element called press, which keeps the evidence of our acts. Many people today have mental issues. It is demonstrated that some people are born with highly criminal behavior developed. The society should be more involved on tracking and separating these kinds of persons, which are a danger for themselves and others.We pretend to be civilized and advanced. Don't we?In my country it was a case with a guy who killed his sister and her child.He was supposed to be in sanatory since he has schizophrenia. The doctors considered that he will take the treatment and will behave. It seems that he failed their trust.

In fact what is happening around is much much more horrible and intolerable. Also, not even 1% is reaching to our ears. Only the reported news and is available to us. How many are not know, unaware and un-notice also. It is sad and so pity to say. If I just consider the news that I heard from our local news papers, it may be around 200 or more! Similar incidents may be happening all over the world and assume how brutal the people around and people are becoming much cruel and merciless. What we can do is - pledge that we love our people and nation and consider them as how we are and this thinking may help us to not to think about such cruelty towards our fellow beings...

E. Scrooge said something-like "Better for these miscreants to end their lives quickly & reduce the surplus population!" So that's a possible (but still bad) reason for it to happen. As for the news-media focusing on it ... well, the old movie-theater science says "violence sells more popcorn"

I think it's because the mass media are all over the globe now. Normally, this sort of things will just be reported by the local news but now, well, you can make headlines real fast.

Yes here in Mexico I watch cnn news from usa everyday. Thats all I see if someone killing someone. Of course we have killings here as well. B ut dont seem to get so much media attemtion. Why do people kill?? Makes no sence to me at all. Keep peace.

i have no words to say about such things.it is unbelieveable.maybe i am not in their place and i can't understand what they are doing.but it is so bad to hear that.

I guess people nowadays does not have value for life anymore, it is like taking someones life like he/she is an insect, and disregarding their health like they are immortal. Not only killings are shown in the news, but the rise of obesity, diabetes and heart disease which are diseases that can be avoided with self discipline in lifestyle. Stay healthy

It is sad to know the state of the world today that people, most especially children can no longer be safe even right within the confines of their own homes. These people who would kill their own kids in cold blood for silly and insane reasons were already sick to begin with even before they became parents, I think. They shouldn't have brought these kids into this world. I think they just had kids for the wrong reasons, and when that reason was served or not, there's no more need for them. I also said in a similar discussion that if she was raped, she need not kill the kid because a mistake wouldn't correct another mistake. There are lots of childless couples who would welcome a kid with open arms, or institutions that will take these kids in. Killing them wouldn't make anything right for her, nor it would right the wrong her own father did to her.

I think crime is increasing day by day and its a serious topic for concern.People kill their own blood because of the anger that they have in their mind,they must talk to someone and sought out the matter.They must not kill anyone,no one has given them the right to kill.They must be hanged
