Being a Saints fan this offseason must've been quite the journey, considering all that they have gone through in the past few months. "Bountygate", as some call it, the threatened holdout of Drew Brees due to his contract negotiations, having to figure out who will be the interim and interim interim coach, et cetera.
As far as who I think will contend for a Super Bowl this year, I think there could be many teams in the running. That is one thing about the NFL which makes it so interesting to watch: on "any given Sunday," any team can beat any other team. The main contenders I have heard about in the offseason are the Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots, New York Giants (have to include the defending champs), Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears, San Francisco 49ers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, and the Houston Texans.
Of course, the 49ers are my local team, so I have a particular rooting interest in them. They came very close to reaching the Super Bowl last year, one year removed from a 6-10 season. Now they have picked up Randy Moss, Mario Manningham, and Brandon Jacobs in the offseason (those last two were on the Super Bowl champ Giants last season). I think the biggest question will be whether quarterback Alex Smith can have another year like last year, which was really his first good year in the 7 he's been in the league.

But, oh well. I picked them cause they were the first game i watched that i wasnt bored lol.
my boyfriend was telling me the same thing with the teams that there will be a lot of good teams this season.

How typical that the team you pick to root for suddenly has an offseason filled with issues. I do that kind of thing all the time.
I can see why you weren't bored when watching the Saints: Drew Brees quarterbacking for that team is pretty exciting to watch.
And I think at the beginning of the season there's often many teams in the running for the Super Bowl. Like I said, I think that's part of the reason that the NFL is so interesting.
Congratulations on your team winning the game. I should just caution you to not make too much out of a preseason win. In fact, I remember in 2008 when the Detroit Lions won a few preseason games, but then went 0-16 during the regular season, making it among the worst performances in a season in major sports. However, I don't think the Saints will be 0-16 or anywhere near that.
