Sending Text while moving is very dangerous.Just Imagine a case you are stepping down on a staircase at same time you are texting. If you missplace a foot then you will definetely fall down. Outcome may be anything. It can be a minor bruises or Major accident.

hi, i agree, we should be very careful , while texting(sms). I have seen many people who talk on the phone while driving, which is very dangerous. similarly texting is also, dangerous, now a days people are concentrating more on phone and texting while walking on the road or any where else, which is very harmful . I have seen some people who met with an accident, while doing so , so i never do such things on road or where it is not safe at all. people should realize this.

Texting is not dangerous if you just stayed at home or office and have nothing to do. It's a means of communication. But when you text while doing other things, then it became dangerous just like other things. Texting in a gasoline station is strictly prohibited too and should not be done. But overall, I think texting is good but it needs to be done in the right situation.

A friend of mine spends so much time texting when she's driving her car, and that really scares me! We're not multi-taskers, we can only truly focus on one thing at a time, and it will either be texting, or driving. However, she has only had 1 accident, which was a minor bump where she paid for both sides, not going through insurance, and when that happened, she wasn't texting at all! On the other side, I extremely seldomly do anything like that. The closest I ever get is when traffic is really basic and simple, and I'm checking a map or directions. Other then that, I always watch where I'm going... but I've had more problems! So, I guess it is better not to be texting while driving, but at the same time, some people are just better drivers.

This is one of the many reason we don not own cell phones. There is no way for a accident to happen on our end from one of these mistakes. I think they should make something in the car that turns off messages until the vehicle is pulled over and turned off.

Texting while you drive is most dangerous as you do not have your full attention on driving and exposing innocent passengers to harm. You could kill someone on the road, veer off the highway, knock into something, and you will be charged if you are in an accident caused by your negligence. It is equally inconsiderate to walk and text and knock into people. Your concentration being impaired you might also stand on a busy road and your cell phone get snatched. My cell phone went bust about three days ago and I have made no effort to repair it. People must wait for me to call them.

It certainly can be dangerous, even for those who walk and text! On more than one occasion I have witnessed someone texting as they walk and they don't stop at the crosswalk, they just keep moving forward and a car nearly hits them. Then when the car blasts the horn at them, they look up as if to say "what's your problem?"

I think the mobile phone is an inevitable gadget in everybody’s life and it seems the gadget is turning into a dangerous one at times for some people. Few moths back 3 people got killed by hitting a train, where they were walking through railway line and didn’t heard the voice of train as they are busy with their mobile. I have been watching every day travel, in bus; all are busy either in texting, or browsing in mobile. They even don’t care if they didn’t get any seat to sit or the bus is crowded, they are happy to spend time with mobile in the middle of a crowd. Once I was standing near to the door in a bus, I was about to get down, a girl who stand infront of me, quickly typing text in her mob, a boy who also near to me for getting down was curiously looking on the screen to the girl’s mobile but she didn’t watch at all and busy on her works. It made me laugh, the curiosity in the face of that boy, he is eager to read what she types and she is not caring others are noticing her. The gadget is good for people if we can handle it with care and concern. Those who are not caring the dangerous consequences will repent later.

Yeah true that. It is definitely dangerous to those people who does not have discipline. I am not being mean because i am also guilty of doing this stuffs but why? I still don`t know like what you have said, it is like were playing with fire. We must avoid texting even if it is an emergency especially when we are on the road

Yes, Texting, talking on phone or even plain listening to music with Mobiles while driving a vehicle is very, very dangerous. I have seen people's vehicles swaying here and there, while driving. It is dangerous and makes roads more susceptible to accidents.

Texting while driving is an offence in my country and at the moment, there is nothing done to people while they are walking. But it is too much trying to implement some law governing that. But I have seen people texting while walking and they were so engross it.

I text a lot but I did not have problems at all. Maybe because my senses are well coordinated. I can really walk while texting without being bothered of being hit by anything. hehe I always look from time to time where I am going while texting.

As we know sending sms while driving in dangerous and we must avoid it, still some youngsters are sending messages and listening music from their cell phone while driving. Surely this kind of youngsters must avoid this kind of activities. Few days before a great accident happened in my life due to texting. A young girl sending message from her mobile phone while walking in the road, she missed to listen the car which is coming in the opposite side, the car driver listening song from his car and interested in that music, he missed to watch the girl and hit her, due to her carelessness she lost her life. Really it is a great misery. In this issue both the girl as well as car driver interested in their activities and caused this accident due to their careless. This incident is a great lesson to the persons whoever calling and messaging in their cell phone while walking or driving in the road. Otherwise we will face this kind of unwanted accidents in our life. We can avoid this kind of unwanted activities to save our precious life. Avoid texting and chatting using your mobile phone while you are driving, this kind of texting activity will divert your concentration and you may face a lot of unwanted problems due to it.

Yes I am getting what you are trying to say. And thanks you for increasing this awareness. What I feel is that it is not that dangerous or risky if you are little bit taking care of the surrounding. I know that at times you completely get indulged into it without noticing what is actually going around you. Ofcourse that is something really foolish. It takes a little to keep a note of what is happening around you and act accordingly. You can keep yourself safe. And if you are not this much attentive even, then texting is just an excuse you may get trapped in some accident anytime anywhere.

Yes, sending text messages is dangerous especially when you are crossing the street or even going down the stairs. Don't text when you are crossing the street and going down the stairs because you might get hurt or even die. You have to avoid accidents. We always need to be careful because each of us only have "one life."

I agree with you. I think texting when you are outside is dangerous. When we are driving the car, we might bump other people, other vehicles, or some buildings. While we are walking, we shouldn't text when we are outside the house especailly when we are on the street. If we do it, we might be hit by some cars and motorcycles as what you have said. So, when we text, we should make sure that we should stop for a while somewhere and then when we are done sending some messages, that's the time that we should already continue walking or driving. We should really be careful so we won't get hurt while texting. So the people we are texting will not really worry about us. :)

Using it improperly really makes texting dangerous. using this mode of communication really needs a lot of responsibility. Sometimes, even there are many proofs that it is dangerous to send SMS messages while doing something, still, many of us, yes including me, used this application improperly like while driving, while walking or any thing.

You are right, I heard some vehicular accidents where drivers were caught sending SMS. But people nowadays, especially here in the Philippines, I noticed that they really do not have to look at their cellular phones just to compose SMS or send them. They can actually do that without looking. They are already experts on this.

It is definitely dangerous if you do it at the wrong place. It may sound funny but it is not. I am guilty of texting while walking but I see people who do worse like texting while crossing the street. Isn't that ridiculous? These are simple reminders that are often ignored but can definitely save life if we stop doing it.
