New annoying newbies, huh?

meh, i think i am not sensitive much right now unlike before where my blood would boil to even the simplest misunderstanding. that's because I was a newbie once and oh, boy I was such a whinnie that i lost my account once and almost this one too nobody's perfect. but when a veteran tells you to go to the FAQ and discussion guidelines, you'd better go for it. or else, we won't save you from the admin's SILENT WRATH I swear, admins reminder is a lot scarier than veterans reminder

I made a lot of mistakes when I was new and veteran mylotters pointed out my mistakes to me. Some were softer than others but I was very glad for their help. I learned what i was doing wrong and have had a very good mylotting history and experience since.

Hello BostonPill, I don't remember you having mistakes, but probably because you were focusing more on doing it right more. besides, if you have made mistakes then it wasn't me who noticed it, probably by some other people out there. keep doing the right thing here in mylot. have anice day.

I made one big blooper early on that could have cost me some friends and did cost me some earnings. I did not know that when you began a discussion, you were supposed to comment back to your responders. I thought that you could just begin a discussion and let others join in. I read and loved all my responses but usually did not comment back. A veteran let me know that that is not how it is done. I also lost earnings. I was getting so discouraged on mylot because my earnings were so very low that i considered dropping out. After I began to comment back, my earnings greatly improved and I began to enjoy mylot to the point where I began to love it. That was my really big mistake. I also began a couple of discussions early on that were deleted for whatever reason. And of course, I responded or commented on some discussions that were later deleted. I still get fooled about responding to discussions that will later be deleted but not very often. I now usually know the signs of those discussions that will probably get deleted for breaking the rules. I have greatly improved if I do say so myself.

hi Letran, I do understand why you may be annoyed...But i look at i this way,,,I read the guidelines for my self and tried my best to abide by the guidelines...Now being I was a "newbie" when and if someone responded with advise, I took it as a learning experience..I knew if they were advising me I had drifted the wrong direction.. I appreciate the useful assistance..but everyone is just not as accepting..I believe I believe in helping those who wants help and those who have attitudes, leave them be... I don't want any warnings from admin, especially when the rules and regulations are very clear.. As you can see I am also a newbie compare to you, but I certainly don't want to be classified as the newbie that annoy my fellow mylotters....

Hello Bjcc66, am merely stating about the title regarding some people annoyed by newbies who don't follow the guidelines or they didn't know there was one. It's not their fault really, i had tons and months of different violations before i finally got kicked out and a month before i start over. i think you're no longer a newbie once you are familiar with the guidelines and follow it through out. have a nice day

The silent wrath of the admin take your earnings! So yeah I'd say that's a little bit more scary than you veterans trying to tell them what for.

wrath of the admin take your earningsEXACTLY! You know what? I lost 40$ straight the last time i made a huge violation. strange, that old account of mine was gone but the discussion remained some how. that is huge if you're living on another country. not to mention banned is also the worst case scenario. but why go through all that if you can just follow the guidelines, it ain't so bad.

That is a Big chunk to have taken away. Sorry for such a late response I've just recently learned how to set up notifiers and so I missed some that were responded to in the past. Now if these newer members will learn from our mistakes I think they will appreciate it more than have to deal with the consequence.

You were a newbie a long way before I even entered mylot, and yes, I've been there as well. We all start out and man did I get some advice (some nicer than others) when I went down the wrong lane Thing it, guidelines aren't there for nothing and when someone points you to them after you either didn't read them on purpose or couldn't find them, best thing to do is read them. If you still don't want to follow the rules after that, at least you know that you are not abiding to terms.

Hello cyberfluf, Yeah I have come a long way from where I was before. at that time i was annoyed too and irritated, some just ignored and then it happened some how. now, am doing my best to earn as much as i wanted to. but not as passionate as it was before, i will just contribute the way i can. have a nice day

I actually don't understand all these issues. When I joined any site, I read the guidelines. I wasn't so much worried about the wrath of administration but I did want to get it right. Otherwise, what is the point in joining? Even after reading the guidelines, I still screwed up a couple of times and still needed to ask questions but geez....there seems to be a ton of newbies coming in that are 100% clueless. It does get old telling each and every one of them to read the faqs and guidelines. Any site that you join up to on the net is going to have guidelines and rules. Is it not common sense to just read the rules of anything that you join up to?

Hello Sid, Not every one thinks that mylot admin is strict, they thought it's just another site that they can do what ever they want with it. that situation is new ones don't read the guidelines immediately, they thought it's the same thing as the other, but it's not. this kind of common sense isn't always for every one. some needed to be reminded of. have a nice day.

I'm not annoyed of newbies as long as they contribute to the discussions. I'm more annoyed of oldies with many strings of one-sentence replies which really don't amount to much. It's like talking with uninteresting people, and I just hate uninteresting people. :/
• Philippines
9 Aug 12
Hello Inkyuboz, yes as long as they contribute something that i can respond to. but the problem is that if they don't know what is offensive, then they're work is often not recognized and will be reported and deleted by the admin. you don't have to hate, how ever, if you ever see a violation, just report it.

Hi LK, Thanks for your sharing experienced being newbie here.. I also remember some of my past experience here but through that experience I learned more and more how to accept and determine the jokes to reality.. i agree with you we from others here we learn something for us.

Hello Visavis, It wasn't an easy pick up for me because there was a time where also. though, i still think i should have followed rules then, still i'd never learn it the hard way. am sure that you will teach new people too if you find them a bit more different and doesn't according what the rules say. have a nice day my friend

When I joined it was pretty self explanatory to read the rules. I read the rules on any site I join. That is common sense to me. If I did something wrong at any time I would much rather hear it from a veteran than from admins! Lol. Admins are much more scary. If everyone would just read the rules MyLot would be a much more enjoyable experience for everyone!

Hello LovingmyBabies, I wish that would have been an even more lovely experience. but it really doesn't work that way now a days. I don't think they're scary, but i do remember my first account getting deleted and i got depressed for a month before i got back into mylotting again. am glad you immediately read the rules, have anice day.

hi, yes i have seen some of the veterans saying about the dos and don't s here. We should follow the rules where ever we are , and we will get all the benefits . I never got any warnings as i dint /very choosy about posting any thing, but have seen some of my friends whose discussions are deleted , an warnings from fellow mylotters. I keep it in mind.

Hello prashu228, Because it is a must and it was instructed that every one should help each other so that no one will get into trouble.well, i have seen some discussions coming from my friends who were also deleted because some believe they violated their discussion. sometimes i do report my own topics.

Hello Debbygirl, there are a lot of newbies every day in this site, and some are probably new accounts but old people in disguise. and most are those who writes here and there then do what ever they want not thinking of the rules. some even complain and wants to change the rules, but that doesn't work that way until that person quit. have a nice day.

hi debby, LK are referring to those newbies who don't listen to vets rather they take the vets advice as an offensive one. We are trying to have a fun loving mylot community here but sometimes others take it in a wrong way happy mylotting

You are so right. I am a newbie right now, but I got some internet experience, and I know pretty much how to use mylot already. Thank you for this post :)

Hello Visdude11, It has nothing to do with the internet experience when you're here,it's how you are told to follow the rules of this site. therefore, when you are reminded to read the guidelines of the discussion, you better check it, read it and remember it, so that you won't get into trouble. http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx
