that we have lived in these apartments for 18.5 years. I didn't think we had been here that long. We lived in the two bedrooms for about four and we have been here as long as I can remember. How long have you been in your home? Is it 'home' or a stop over?

That is a long time. Time flies. I have been here going on 5 years and I haven't made up my mind about the stop over. I have moved around so much. I haven't really decorated it like I would a home. I guess it is because I don't know for sure. I have pondered getting somewhere else but the neighborhood is so nice and I really like my neighbors. The house had potential..that's about it..lol.

hi dear celticeagle, we live in this apartment now for 7 years and 10 more will follow. Reason is that this apartment is quite close to the station so when my husband is not available to get me to and from the station to commute to work I can still walk. So its a home but we plan to relocate when I wont have to work any more cause cats are not allowed in here. I am a cat person and want one.

Our oldest one I can't even remember where we got it from. A neighbor around here probably. We got one from an older lady who couldn't take care of it any more. And our youngest was from a neighbor's litter.

we hopefully will get two older cats when the time comes, maybe from the animal shelter.

I remember moving quite a bit when I was little, until Daddy got a job on a ranch. I was in third grade and we (they) lived there until I was 37 years old and Daddy couldn't work any more. I moved around a lot with my first husband - every three or four months sometimes. Moved a few times with my second husband, but then we settled down and raised our family in an old house for about 15 years. I've been living here for over 11 years and wish I could move. I enjoy having a homey place, but I enjoy seeing and experiencing different places, too.

the first place as a child that I lived in was for 18 years, then the city torn it down. The longest I have ever lived in a place is 25 years, this last house only two years and now I am moving in a couple of weeks to the place I will probably die in.

I have lived in my bungalow for 2 years and intend to live here for the rest of my life. Before that I lived in a modern house and only lived there for 5 years. I had to move to give my disabled son wheelchair access, a downstairs bedroom and a downstairs wet room. I was sad to leave there because it had a view of the countryside. It was on the edge of the town with ideal dog walks close by. My first home was an old cottage and I owned that for 14 years. I left it to study, work away from it and sometimes I let it out to go off traveling. I moved from it due to my sister having moved and my mum arranging to move to that same area too. You have lived in your current home for many years.

I don't own a house that's why I lived for 40yrs now renting houses and I can't remember how many time we move in and out in each houses. So far to be exact I'm almost one year now here to be exact. And planning to move again because of the flood I'm experiencing here every time It rains so hard.

I owned and lost homes in a couple of marriages. Can't afford to keep them. I have always rented and am happy that way. I wouldn't want the responsibility of owning a home.

i guess this is the longest stay we have so far, with my wife, since we lived together and build our own family, almost 17 years now. this is the longest stop over for us, about 8 years now. since i came here almost 20 years now, we move from apartments to houses to room only for rent. i wonder how long we will be stay here and when are we gonna have our own home.

hi, It happens with some of the people, before moving to our own house, we used to live in a rented apartment , we lived there for 10 years. We didnt realize it, but before moving to our house , all the thoughts started coming to our mind,as to when we went there, all the memories in the apartment with our grandparents and parents, and also the achievements etc. Those are very special which we relish for ever, but living in our own house is a complete different , achievement and it has got its own sweet memories .

I've been here for about 3 months already. It's hard to come by and move in to another house often. I had to do this because my workplace isn't permanent. I get assigned from place to place. It's hard but it's part of life and my job.

I have lived in this house for over twenty five years. It is not very homey right now, because we had to bring all of my son's extra stuff here when he and his wife split up, and I have gotten purely lazy as well. This is probably where I will live until I die, though. I have been cleaning and rearranging some lately though.

Its hard to be clean and tidy when you are overwhelmed. I still have stuff in boxes from when I moved out of here in 2010 for three months. Never moved back in just squated. My laptop and a waste basket is about all I need. Keep cleaning and arranging though or they may not find you when they send out the squad. lol

Every place is a "stopover" until my boyfriend and I can actually buy a place. Although, this space that we are in now feels more like a home than some of the other places in which my boyfriend and I have lived since moving in together. This time, I am actually unpacking much of our stuff; that is a definite change from the previous places. However, I do know that this is to be short-term--slated to be a place where we stay for a few months.

Well, we've owned our home since February of 2008, but we didn't actually move into our house until April of 2009, so we've been in our house for about three and a half years now. Our house is definitely a home for us. It is the first home that we bought so that we would be able to raise our children in a house of our own. In addition to personalizing it with our pictures and our decorations, we've also made several improvements to the house since we've owned it that I believe have really made our house our own.

That sounds great! Making afew improvements along the way is always nice. I think its important for kids to have a home that doesn't keep changing.

Hi friend, good to hear that you lived in your house for around 19 years, really it is a great thing, previously we lived in our rented apartment for around 12 years and it is the greatest rented period in our life

I too have lived a few places that I didn't realize I had been there that long. Usually 3 or 4 years it seems like we are moving. But that's not terribly. My parents moved my siblings and I every few months, so 3 or 4 years seems like a long time. In fact if we stay somewhere much longer I find myself getting antsy. We've been in our present home, going on 2 years and I'm starting to feel that antsy feeling, but I like this place, so who knows, this could be it.
