No offense to those who are smoking, but sometimes I just don't understand why some people are still smoking despite the fact that governments already warned that cigarette smoking is dangerous to our health. I asked to one of my closest friends and he said, he smoke to relief some stress (well whatever it is I respect his opinion) but for me I don't think it's a nice reason; I consider it as an excuse. If you smoke then you won't be healthy, no person is having a good health and they are smoking. Let me share to you a story that I've read from a book.
A tobacco-company executive traveled the country looking for a long-time smokers in a good health. He found one man who admitted to smoking for 70 years. The CEO explained to the man; " If you do a commercial for us,we'll pay you $10,000." The man replied; "It's a deal. When do I start?" The executive said; how about 10:00 AM tomorrow? The man replied; "can't do it, sir - I never quit coughing till noon!" :(. Base on this story smoking will give no good to our health. What do you think? do you agree?

Hi,
What a good story you have shared! I wish all smokers read this to understand that they are treading the path downhill towards doom. My father is a chain smoker. We tried everything to get him to quit but when someone is not concerned about his own well-being who can force him to? Thus, there have been phases when he said he will give up smoking as it is really showing adverse effects on his health (he even had nose bleeding once) but he could never give up. I think this is one of those addictions that makes a person delude himself to the point that he cannot judge how much harm he is causing himself in the process of inhaling this "poison" (if I may say so). There are warnings on every pack that a person buys, warnings are shown even before a film begins where smoking is shown but all that is not paid any heed to by smokers. Moreover, they do not realize that passive smoking is affecting their near and dear ones. I and my mother could do nothing about this and we are at a loss as to how to make him stop since he won't listen!

Just to share, I immediately stopped smoking a year before my wedding to clean my body particularly my internal organs where my baby will stay for 9 months. With this direction I was able to quit smoking 3 packs a day is that 60 sticks?, there was a time that I buy the cheapest brand because I cannot finance anymore my smoking, this is funny but it happen to me.

I agree, smoking is dangerous to our body- I am a smoker for ten years, but when I decided to stop smoking, immediately i stopped . Sometimes people smoke for psychological purposes as you said to relief some stress in work etc.

I do agree with you. Smoking is really dangerous to our health. Even if we aren't smoking if we inhale the smoke coming from the smokers, we'll also be affected. I hope smokers will quit smoking. It's unfair to us who aren't smoking. We are trying our best to be healthy but if we are surrounded by smokers I guess we won't be healthy no matter how we try.
