hi mylotters,
Last night I was about to close my shop when a typical teenager girl entered and said " Ate pwede ba ako makitext sa mama ko?" Ate can I used your cellphone just going to text my mom I was shocked when she entered the shop I was not able to close it cause I am chatting with a mylotters and forgot to lock it.
I have a doubt cause I was thinking what if this is just one of modus operandi someone will ask for help but they will do something bad to you I have doubts but my heart said I need to help her as I saw her shivering I don't give her my cellphone but I told her to dictate the message to me after a minute the person I texted called her they talk and I was being paranoid she stood up and go to the door I thought she is going to run away with my mobile phone (can't help not to think this way).
After the call she went outside looking if her Mom has arrive I told her to go inside and we are going to lock the door I will just text her mom that we are inside our computer shop (as per mylotter suggestion) after 15 minutes her mom arrived she gave thanks to me and go home.
I don't want to be suspicious but I can't help not to be cause now a days you can never tell who is true and not.
Still badly raining here
Be safe everyone

Hi bhaby,
True, nowadays, especially in our country... it's really hard to trust someone coz even kids are used by bad guys. But thank goodness that you still helped her.

Something like this does not happen very often, but it has happened many times across the globe. I don't know the term, but there is something that happens for a reason. If I put it in faith or religious/Christian perspective, your experience has to do with a Divine intervention. God led this teenager to you for help. Both of you may not aware of it, but somehow there is an influence that work out well in the end, especially for the teenager. I don't know how common it is to ask strangers for help in Philippine, but you can be considered a good Samaritan (although the teenager was not injured in any way). I could also simply put a random act of kindness (which was not planned).
I could ask a bunch of questions like what kind of area is your shop located, when are you normally closed, and do you get people at the last minutes. I am also curious if teenagers usually come in to your shop and whether you have experienced any shoplifting. Going back to the teenager, why did she ask you to text her mom, instead of just calling her? Is it expensive to just call anyone?

hi garson,
My shop is located along the road it's quite late that time
It is a net cafe so she can't do a shoplift
Well asking to text her mom is too much I think what more of asking to call her mom
Anyway thanks for the response

That is really nice that you helped her :) well, if I was in your situation, I would have second thoughts too. Nowadays there are a lot of people that would try to fool you just to steal your things. It is good that she is not a thief. Happy mylotting.

Oh, we think first, it may be a fraud - because the people misused such situations so badly and those who deserve a real help also many not be get attended or go ignored.
Some months back, one of my office colleague(girl) was travelling in a less crowded train and a nearby good looking young girl asked her 'will you please give me your phone to make a call to my mom, as my balance got over', and it was just about few seconds before the train leave the station. Mean she just dialed the number and moved slowly towards the door side and before the train get speed up, the girl simply move out of the train and walked away, when my friend approached to the exit side, the train moved fast and could not jump few people who was standing nearby also got surprise by seeing the incident.
So, when more and more people do foul play with genuine people, we never feel to offer a help even for someone really need a help!

Cool... I honor you bhabycatch for doing such a noble act. Not everybody are brave enough to trust strangers even if they have no bad intentions. Continue to be like that and I am sure you will be rewarded. Also, retain your skepticism for you will never know what is the true intention of that person.
