Just saved five puppies

I am free from the university until the middle of September and I am trying my best to catch up some sleep. Since I slept very little in the last months. Today it was impossible for me to sleep. At 5 am, I started to hear puppy crying outside, near my apartment, and I had to go and see what is going on. Somebody left five puppies in the street, next to my block. I am tired of these stupid people who believe that neutering the dog is wrong, but leaving the puppies in the street to die from hunger is ok. I went back home and called a vet from a shelter where I do my practice sometimes, and she told me that they had room, but they can come only in the after noon to take them. I went back for the puppies, and I only found three of them. I had to crawl to a basement to recover the other two and took them in my bathroom until the guys from the shelter came. I have four crazy cats and an old, blind dog so it is not easy for me to bring stranger animals inside. I gave them water with a syringe and some food. They don't even know how to eat yet. The guys finally came and I gave them. I hope they will find good owners. As a vet I always have to face the stupidity of the people who think that is evil and unnatural to neuter animals, but is it ok to throw them in the street. In my country, we have hundreds of stray dogs and cats, skinny and sick because of these people. And when the animal bites he is still the guilty one. Why can't people assume me responsibilities

That was so sweet of you pandora. I love dogs and one I had saved three like you saved 5. I don't how people can leave them on streets to die. There are other options as well. God will bless you for this nice work. I am happy to have known you. have a wonderful day.

I only read the first lines of your post and I thought: this girl must be from Romania! I couldn't help my curiosity and I checked your profile. You ARE from Romania! I was right. I can't think of other people to have this stupid theory that dogs should not be spayed/neutered because it won't help them. "Let the female have one litter, first!" - this is the most stupid thing I heard about spaying/neutering. And the worse thing is I've heard this from veterinarians, not from uneducated people. I don't know if the puppies you sent to the shelter are saved. In a shelter they can contact deadly viruses. A shelter is not a place for newborn puppies. They need a mother or, in your puppies' case, they need a foster home until they are able to eat alone, at least.

Hey there. I see that you are from Romania to. I know that the situation of the shelters in our countries is not very good, but I am from Iasi, and I personally know the vet from the local shelter. The puppies are well cared. I managed to save puppies before thanks to this doctor. She vaccinates them and finds really good homes or them. It is true that many vets also share this stupid mentality. I know because I have one more year to become one, and I have classmates which also believe that spaying is wrong. We won't have a country without stray dogs and cats to soon. I would have offered foster home, but as I said already I have some crazy cats and a blind dog.

I wonder what are your teacher doing if you say there are colleagues of yours who still believe it is wrong to spay and neuter. Don't they teach you about the benefits of spaying and neutering? Or your teachers themselves believe spaying is wrong? On the other hand, I am glad to hear about that big heart vet from the Iasi shelter. I hope the puppies will be safe and they will find good homes (though I know how difficult is to find homes for stray dogs, I was in the situation of finding good families for strays, too).

In fact all of our teachers are pro neutering, but these colleagues of mine come from the country side, and they have these stupid mentality well fixed in their head. They come from fairies who believe that the only animal that deserves attention is the animal that produces food. We know pretty well which is the level of education for the majority of people who live in the rural medium in our country.
