I am from the Philippines. Our country is currently experiencing nonstop rainfall for almost two weeks now. People in Luzon are badly in need of food, clothing and shelter. The water is up above average height of a person. Please pray for my country and please do whatever you can to help those affected by the flooding.. :(

I do pray that the flooding stops. Maybe not the rain by the flooding. I had several co-workers who lived in Manila whose house was completely submerged under flood water. I think I am the few lucky ones who are living in the South and our home is located in a high place. But I knew that those people living in nearby towns was also had flooding. Now my wife is already packing some goods to be brought in our kids school as donation. I too already had pleaded one ones worth of vacation leave to be donated by my company to Kapuso Foundation. One good thing about us Filipinos is that in times of calamities, the "bayanihan" culture is very evident and are still smiling despite the hardships that we faced.

I saw it on TV yesterday. Good for us that we are not located in low lying areas here in our place. however, yesterday we still went to our work since private institutions are not yet suspended early in the morning. However, on our way, we saw the river near our workplace is really high and already reached some of the houses near the river banks. Before lunch time, we decided to go home and informed our HRD that we might not be able to go home is we stayed for long. Good that the malacanang already issued suspension of offices including private in the morning.

That is one of the major reason for flooding. The drainage especially in metro are already clogged by garbage.

We`re from antipolo and miraculously we are still safe despite the fact we are near marikina city. I am quite worry and i cant sleep because of this habagat wind. Our village is safe but when you go outside our subdivision the flood is really high. Jeepneys and cars can`t be seen and a lot of mad was in the road. Antipolo major roads was damaged and we can`t no longer travel to marikina and marcos highway. I hope this issue will be done. Please pray for the Philippines and i hope that the sun will shine brightly tomorrow. My wife is out to work and she was stranded to her friend`s house. My daughter will be helping to clean her school too because it was really washed out. I hope good weather will come for their safety and for the safety also of our fellow filipinos who was really affected by the rain.

Hi Gelli. I feel so sad about this, I am also in the Philippines but I am in the Visayan part of the country and we are not experiencing the same problem now. We've had our share of flooding in some areas before but not as bad as what Manila is experiencing. I think this is the result of modernization. One seldom find real trees and plants in the big Metro. In our place which is a small city one can still find many big trees and lots of plants everywhere. I hope it remains this way. I also pray that something can be done to minimize flooding in Manila.

It's really heartbreaking to see the news today, almost the whole Manila and nearby provinces are experiencing severe flood. I feel like crying whenever I see the news and really pray to God for the welfare and safety of those who are in affected areas. I hope many kindhearted people will continue to support as best as they can.

Hi gell, Its sad that we are to pay a lot for the global weather imbalance and we are not to blame for it but everycountry of this planet.
However, Everry situation has its opposite situation. You are at stake now and hope you would outdo the catastrophie. So deployed rescue team should rescue the people of nether regions first and distribute the mecessary relief commodities like food, clothing to the victims.
Pray and pray for you all fight this ongoing adverse situation and overcome it.
Its your heroism as a country if you can beat the situation. Its all your might if you can fix your disturbances again.

Let us pray for our country. Keep safe people and be alert and vigilant. If the government announces to evacuate please don't hesitate. Make sure all important documents are sealed with plastics. Forget your gadgets. Save you life!

I agree with you. But if we can't give them food, water, clothing etc. then, PRAYER can be. And it should be the first because only God can help us now . . and forever.

I would agree on what you've said, luckily our place is not really that bad knowing that were from Caloocan, it saddens me to see our fellow Filipinos suffering from floods and heavy rain. I hope God would put His hands in our country to stop the rain. Foods and water are the best things to give them.
Condolence to those famly who were trapped on landslide in Commonwealth..:(

I am thanking God my place was spared from any flooding. As compared to Ondoy many years ago we were hit with floods before but this time only rains and no flood came in my place. I am praying for those that get hit again and in some areas it even got worst than the Ondoy.
It is sad seeing them suffer the second time around with this.

yeah, we heard over the news and internet. pictures of flooding and people evacuating are all over the facebook. it is helpful to have facebook which allows people to share what's happening around the world. i think the humanitarian organizations and local governments are preparing their relief operations to address the basic needs of those people who are deeply affected by the flooding.

Yes praying is what we should all do for God to grant mercy. The damage to lives and properties have been unimaginable. It breaks my heart to see the flood victims on their rooftop while the flood kept rising. Far more heartbreaking are the victims of landslide. How sad, so sad really!
Our area is also prone to flooding but I thank God because the flood did not reach our houses. But so sorry for those who lost their lives, houses and properties because of these calamity. Indeed we really need to pray. Only God can help.

Hi. I am a Filipino too. And it is really sad to see some places of my beloved country flooded and many are in distressed. Let us all hope that what is happening right now will serve as a lesson to each and everyone of us. We should all know that throwing our garbage everywhere will not do us any good. We should be very vigilant and look after one another to avoid such problem to happened again.
