I'll be honest, I never used to even bother looking at the weekly grocery flyers before getting my groceries. Well now that I have more of an interest in saving money, I'm doing all I can. Looking at these flyers really has started to save me money, I find it beneficial to buy a lot of one item that is on sale as long as it won't spoil before I can use it-- cheese being one example. Do you bother looking at the grocery flyers? Do you think it's worth it? Thanks in advance.

In my case, I used to check grocery flyers before going to shop my things at the grocery. However, I only used to check if there are items on sale based on what I need to buy. I don't used to buy most of them since it is not on my list. Sometimes, these sale items are only used for marketing strategy. Sometimes it makes you think that you will really save on those items but in reality, not. Take example those that are sold in bundles. They till say that you will save much because the second item is at lower price. However, the item being bundled on the main item, you will not need them at all. This only means that you are spending for nothing.
One tips that I can share is you must have your list of items to buy. Check them in the flyer if they are sale. this will not only save you money but it will also save you time in going to the grocery. Furthermore, you must not go to grocery when you are hungry. This will make you buy more especially food.
have a good day!

This method really helps us a lot in saving money. I think this makes our mind busy in digesting the food rather than thinking what items to buy except for those in your prepared list.

We have the same opinion. Now I seldom go to the supermarket unless I have something necessary to buy. I am saving money for buying my apartment.

The only grocery flyer I look at it is the store I work at, and even that is if I'm bored. I used to look at it when it got sent to my email but I don't even really do that anymore. I usually go to walmart to do my shopping though I will get somethings at my store because of BOGO or because my store is the only one that carries it...
You can save money by following the flyers and the coupon weeks. Buying in bulk to a degree really does help, but it's all about also having a place to store it and using it as well.

By "bulk" I didn't mean warehouse clubs though I understand that's where your mind went as it's where mine went when I wrote it. What I really meant is with coupons and via BOGO or B2G3 getting more of an item, not so much an "economical" pack though.
I wouldn't get a warehouse membership though I've thought about it. I have friends and family with one I can call up and ask if they will go with me. You have to give the cash to the member in most of the cases because you can't use your debit card with the membership card since its not yours.. atleast that's been my own experience.

I didn't use to really look either, but in the past month I have really been looking at them now that I'm unemployed. I have also gotten involved in clipping coupons too. They really help out, only problem with that is that I was looking for coupons to print offline and some of the grocery stores around here no longer take them. I suppose they probably had too many people abusing them. But I do think checking out the flyers is definitely worth it, especially when things are tight. Personally, I try to stock up on can goods because they tend to have longer expiration dates so they can be stored longer. Good luck with finding deals! :)

No, I generally don't look at them. I have a CSA membership that provides much of our food, and we pick up the remainder at local bakeries, the farmers' market and health food stores.
With the CSA membership, I end up with a wider variety of vegetables than I might otherwise purchase. For instance, I wouldn't usually think of purchasing bok choy or kohlrabi, but they have been part of my CSA share.

Actually, some farms offer single or half-shares. It's just my boyfriend and I here, and we've learned from experience that a full share can be a bit overwhelming for just the two of us.

Oh yes, I always look at the grocery flyer whilst I brow through the shelves
in the supermarket. If they have leave it in my letter box, then I will check
it on weekdays and plan my grocery shopping list for the weekend. You did the
right thing by buying the necessary items in quantity that are having promotion
as long as it is not perishable items like vegetables, fruits and bread. Even
though is a small saving, accumulatively it is still substantial amount. You
have done a good job, keep it up. However, we should not be
carried away by impulsive buying though ....

Yeah we get 2 or 3 different ones so we plan and buy certain things when they are on special. It does help and you can save a few $ by doing so
