Every since I had my chemo for BC I have been craving watermelon and
honestly for the last 5 years, I'll say there hasn't been a total of
6 months that I have not had watermelom, everyday,,I just have a great
craving, summer and winter...I will eat watermelon up to six times a
day, and I mean every day...
When I catch them on sale for 3-4-5.99, I have sometimes have purchased
3-4 without hesitation...
My concern now is, do you think watermelon turns into sugar in the
system,,,,I don't eat bread, rice, chocolate, dessert on a regular,
I cut out fried foods, mostly,,but I can't seem to lose weight..
Please don't be mean, I can't take it...lol

The watermelon does help to lose weight, but you can't eat too much watermelon, because eating too much watermelon is bad for your stomache and spleen.

The book says watermelon is a kind of "raw and cold" food. And if you eat too much, the water in watermelon will weaken the gastric juice. It will make you indigestive. But still watermelon has many advantages, just don't eat too much.

I knew that watermelon is good for the body as other fruits do. As our body is mostly made up of water, then it is one of the best source of clean water for our body's hydration. It also is high in fiber content, so it is very good in keeping our digestive tract clean. If I search watermelon in the internet, i would find hundred of sites that explains the health benefits of water melon.

You must need something in it if you are craving it. It is supposed to be very good for you. All fruit has natural sugar, Watermelon should be sure to help you be regular, and the substance that makes it red colored is supposed to also fight cancer. I would not give up the watermelon. If you can cut out fatty meats or cheeses or butter it would be a better choice. Watermelon is high in anti ixidents and vitamins and minerals.

Watermelon is great in summer and all year, but I generally have watermelon mostly in summer. The thing is if you want a validation that it is good for you :

In relation to the weight loss, ask your doctor maybe you have a slow metabolism and that is why it is so difficult to loose weight, but most diets include watermelon, because it is very filling for few calories.
So if you really enjoy watermelon, why not enjoy it.

Yes, watermelon is good for you. This time of year it is good because it is mostly liquid to drink down. It has Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and calcium and iron. You were probably in need of these and so you were craving it both out of habit and need. What do you eat? Are you exercising? Small meals, more of a snack, throughout the day is best for losing weight. Keeping that metabolism going. Drink lots of water too. Here is a link for more info on watermelon and its nutrition.

experienced any negativity in eat watermelon...
I was walking for my excerise until the doctor advised my not to

I wouldn't worry about it too much. One serving has 6-7grams of sugar (i you go by a serving size of 100 grams). That's pretty much where you want to be at per serving. 100 grams isn't much though. However, you are getting water - which isn't good if you are trying to loose weight - and no fiber.

I don't really think watermelon is good or bad for you. It literally has 0 calories and I doubt it really has that much sugar in it. I know it really can't be terrible for you but I don't know if it's really does anything amazing for you either. I think it really just serves as a calorie-free snack.

Watermelon is good for the system, it is made up of mostly water but it does have some vitamin content in it as well. I believe it might be alot of A and C if I'm not mistaken but it seems like you have a good diet, so don't be worried about losing weight. I don't know your age and other health problems, it could be a problem with your thyroid?

bjc66bjc I think Watermelon is good for you but you need to be sure it's not causing yo to have water gain be sure you are voiding while eating it. if you are not then you need to be careful becaue alot of water intake and not voiding will cause a serious health issue and you don't want that. So eat up and void it out.
