Attention Insomniacs: My strategy for getting some quality sleep

For as long as I can remember I've had a difficult time sleeping. A few years ago I was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea and, it seemed as though, I would be stuck wearing a CPAP mask to bed for the rest of my life. The CPAP thing didn't work for me. Eventually, I had my tonsils removed. I had a physician who tested my blood to find that I was deficient in vitamin D. Still determined to conquer the issue with insomnia I was playing with nutritional supplements. The following combination seems to be a good one for me. A multivitamin-I use Centrum Silver Lecithin Essential fatty acids-I use an Omega 3-6-9 complex Vitamin D Calcium The calcium is a natural pain reliever and tranquilizer so it can act like over the counter pain medication; however, I prefer to correct nutritional deficiencies rather than use over the counter meds. I know some people don't believe in taking supplements, but some of us do whatever is necessary, to get our sleep. Do you have a problem with insomnia or other sleep disorders?

I used to have sleep disorders until I said to myself that I would not worry about when and if I slept. My body should know. That method proved very good for me. I guess anxiety was part of my insomnia.

I can identify with the fact that we sleep when we're able and ready to sleep. Unfortunately, if I have commitments to be somewhere I might not have the option of sleeping when my body wants to. Thanks for your input.

I had that problem when I had to be giving a lecture at the university at 8 A.M. It was not only a matter of being awake in the morning, but I had to have a clear head too.

It is great that you have managed to find a way in which you can get to sleep without having too much trouble. Insomnia is something that affects us all at some point in our lives, but usually not badly. It can be awful when it happens to us, and I can't imagine what it feels like to be able to say that you're not able to sleep for days at a time. I am glad that you've found your way now, and I hope that you can carry on getting better and that you manage to get enough sleep for your body both now and in the future.

Yes, I have problem sleeping especially during work and peak hours. I have been sleeping 11pm every night. My ways of getting quality sleep is having to drink milk everyday. I also take medicine sometimes that promotes good sleep. It's a multivitamins that cures insomnia and you will get good sleep.
