I really need a laptop with a bigger screen Having a Netbook is a blessing and a curse. I'm happy with its portability and not so happy with its really small screen. I can do a bit of work while on my netbook but squinting for hours isn't really my cup of tea. I really need a laptop with a bigger screen and I hope it'll be a light one too.

I think the standard size is 14" and also for me, it's standard and I'm satisfied with the size. 10 inches is really small for me as I also like bigger screen and I think small screen will not work for me regards to my job as Graphics designer. Have a great day!

Think about macbook air 15-inch or the macbook pro 15-inch retina. It would be such a great experience looking at the hd retina display. I couldn't afford the macbook pro 15-inch retina display as of the moment so i got myself the 13-inch which for me still has a very impressive hd graphics compared to my sony vaio 14-inch. Though i've downgraded in the size, I'm very impress with my graphic display. Never been used to using a netbook. Just too small for me, i gave mine to my nephew. But then again, you can still do useful things with your netbook.

I agree! I got both the 14-inch sony vaio and the macbook air 13-inch screen. The mac is lighter, the graphic display more friendly on the eyes. I also have my netbooks for mobility and if I will be doing some work while I'm out. So far the macbook is the winner in terms of the hd graphics. And to think I'm nearsighted so I can really appreciate the big difference.

Would you need a laptop for portability because if it's not being moved about you could opt for a desktop I suppose. Mine has a 20" screen and it's the best feature as far as I am concerned..and I don't even watch movies on it lol. As for the laptops I don't know how large their screens are, they seem to have got smaller and smaller over the years.

You are bang on target since i also have 10 inches and its very small while watching movies and the screen is not good at all if you keep viewing it for longer duration so its better if you try dell or hp branded 14 inches screen with more and good clarity for sure

I think 10 inch is sufficient but if you want big then you can purchase 14 to 15 inch screen. Now table PC are available only in 7 inch screen and lots of persons are working on it in easy way.

dear I have a 13 inch chormebook. It big enough for me because i rarely use it and find myself on my tablet instead. True for business people and people who work on documents a netbook may not be the best computer because its small and meant only for a little web browsing and maybe a app or too.

It's impossible to have one device to satisfy your various needs. Each devices has it's advantages and disadvantages. In you case if you need a lighter netbook but have a 10 inch size I would suggest Apple's MacBook Air

Small screen and therefore smaller computers are more practical to carry, they need less space and are lighter. The big counter point is just that, in particular when using it long hours your eyes suffer. I have a 50cm monitor and after a few hours my eyes start tearing up, so can't even imagine what it is like on such a small screen. A friend of mine plugs his notebook into his TV (it has a port that allows for it) when at home he says that way he gets both worlds.

I know what you mean. My desktop with a 24 inch is on the blink. I've been using my laptop. I'll survive, but I would prefer a huge screen. Even harder is to my phone. Tiny screen.

Well there is a saying that goes we can't have it all. I actually have the same dilemma too when my mom got me a netbook. So now that I started working I'm using another computer with bigger screen but not as light as my netbook though.

when 10" netbook was very popular, I envy my friend who use this gadget because it's look so cute and simple. so one day I decide to buy 10" netbook and hopefully I will enjoy it. but because I always use it everyday it's become uncomfortable to use it and seems like I need a bigger screen to make me enjoy my work

Yes, I also used a netbook before. I also appreciate the convenience it brought to me whenever I am bringing it from my home to my rented apartment before. However, I really seem not contented with the monitor size. That's why I sometimes just bring with me my laptop rather than the netbook. Also, the netbook has some disadvantages especially when I was watching videos back then.

Having a 10 inch netbook is not like having a tablet, I would go for a tablet instead of a netbook. Yes for me also 10inch is hard to look for a while, it's better have a laptop with 15 or 18 inch screen which makes it better to view and more usable .....

I'll be honest: when I first read the title, I thought that you were talking about something else besides computer screens. If you weren't talking about screens, I'd be thinking that you set some high standards. Anyway, I think this is a case of where almost everything has its pros and cons. I think it is ideal to have a computer slightly bigger than 10 inches only because not much portability is lost with, say, a 14 inch screen and then the use of it is a lot more enjoyable. Good luck getting a new one soon.
