So during your pregnancy or your partners pregnancy, did you have to go out and buy all new clothes to fit into or were you one of the lucky ones who still fit into some of your original clothing? If you had to buy some new clothes, did you have an easy time finding cute outfits? If so, where did you shop? Thanks in advance for your input everyone.

With both of my kids I wore my own clothes pretty much through the entire pregnancy. With my daughter towards the end I had to give in and stop wearing my regular pants, I just switched over to only wearing my yoga pants. Size XS maternity clothes for both kids were like tents on me. There are a lot of place now to get cute, cheap maternity clothes - Target, Macy's, JC Penny. Many of those places constantly have sales.

I live in Canada and we don't have Target yet but they are in midst of switching over all Zellers stores to Targets, so I'm looking forward to having a new store to look at. Do you like Target?

I love Target. They are the only store like that I shop at. The clothes hold up good and are super cheap too. A few weeks ago they had their v-neck t-shorts on sale for $5 and there was a coupon out making them $3 each. I pretty much live in those shirts. They are soft and comfortable, a step up from a regular tshirt so you are comfortable but look nice at the same time.

I'm all about looking nice for a little amount of money! Does Target also sell groceries or very few groceries? Like I said, I'm looking forward to checking out this store when it opens up here.

I haven't been pregnant, and I have no plans to be. However, I do know that if you are gaining weight as you should during pregnancy, you will need to go buy clothing. You should gain 25-35 pounds during pregnancy; that is the recommended amount of weight. There are a lot of options for cute maternity clothes these days. The tent-type stuff started disappearing in the 1980s. A Pea in the Pod is one well-known store that specializes in maternity wear; the clothes are cute, and the prices are reasonable.

Haha I like how you worded that " the tent type stuff", I'm glad to see this fashion disappeared as I'm not a fan of that. "A Pea in the Pod", is that an American store? I've never heard of it, I live in Canada.

I looked at the site. In Canada, it is known as Motherhood Maternity. It appears that the selection varies between the U.S. and Canadian sites, but I have to say that there are some seriously cute clothes on both.

I have not been pregnant anytime but I have a feeling that one has to go shopping for new clothes, because the original clothes won't fit because of the big hump. But Some girls who are thin and whose hump is not very big may be able to use the normal clothes. have a wonderful day.

I've known some girls who were lucky enough to still wear some of their original clothes until the very end of pregnancy, that would be nice wouldn't it?

I had a relatively small frame before pregnancy, so when I had my first baby, I needed new clothes. I usually shop at bargain stores; we were on a tight budget, so I just bought leggings (because jeans and shorts were no longer an option) and a couple pairs of larger-sized buttoned blouses for when we had to go out. At home, I wore tank tops because I felt hot and sweaty all the time.

Leggings are so comfortable, they would be a pregnancy-friendly item to own for sure. Thanks for sharing.
