After several days of raining...

Torrential rainfall devastates a big portion of Luzon. Last week, due to strong rains, classes in our city and other places nearby were cancelled. But now, a lot of places within the National Capital Region and neighboring provinces are still suffering from the effects of the southwest monsoon. Relentless rains have submerged many places in the northern part of the Philippines. I get updates from Twitter and I really feel so sad about the situation of people especially those in the Metro Manila area. I hope that more help (of any kind) will reach those who are most in need.

It is really sad, what is happening right now. this rain has been going on for a few days already. i pray that this will just stop altogether and the the heavens will show mercy to us. We are sure not happy with this, even if we are comfortable... even if our place is not affected, even if our company declares work suspension... i am so worried for those who are suffering and those who have been greatly affected by this. May god see we have suffered enough. =(

I think the govt. should have to take appropriate measure before the monsoons to reduce the impact. As it is sure that the continuous rains may affect with such incidents, proper drainage system and other environment measures should have adopted to face such situations. It is really shocking to see some of the photos published in yahoo and other sites.
Take care and hope the situation would be much better in few days.

I pray that we will get over this problem. And hopefully our government officials will wake up and realize that "this is the result of the money they corrupted". And importantly, our fellow Filipinos will have to change our bad habits in order to preserve our environment.

Thinking in the same lines as you. I keep thinking what-ifs over that money and the money we are lent to other coputries. Would have been good if we could spend it here and now.

Seems they are having bizarre weather all over the place. Did you hear about the giant hurricane and all the rain to hit New Orleans, precisely 7 years to the day after Hurricane Katrina? YIKES!

I live in Laguna and majority of the places here are flooded (the flood reaching "lagpas tao"-levels). I'm one of the few fortunate ones who did not experience that situation, but still I pray and hope that no one will perish (or for the most part since it happened, many people will survive.)

Yes, it is shocking to see the situation over there. It may be under control and hope the govt. is active to minimise the causalities and taken appropriate measures to resolve the problems there. It seems that many people have lost their homes and belonging etc.
Take care.

In times of calamities like this, even though Filipinos can surely bounce back, it would be better if we do our share to help our countrymen cope up with this problem faster. I already pledged my one vacation leave worth of salary to be deducted and donated to Kapuso Foundation. If every Filipino would donate a peso for the flood victims, that would be a great way to show our concern to these people. Good to know that Pinoy already got out in Malacanan and personally help. It is most expected for him as our nations president.

Oh God! That were the same words coming out of my mouth whenever I see what has other Filipino experience due to the Habagat. It's just very sad to see people suffer and too sad we can't do anything to stop it. It's because nature had been the one who caused great flood. On ther hand, what people see is only those who experience flood, they maybe don't know that in Mindanao, particularly in Maguindanao that there have been bloody wars caused by rebels.
