Beginner's luck, is it true?

I've been wondering if it's really true. Some of my friends say that whenever you try to do something for the first time, luck is mostly on your side. Like for example, you went to a casino for the first time and bet some money, since it's your first time to do that, you'll be lucky that you will end up winning some bucks. Another instance is when you try to do fishing for the first time, you'll catch one without having to go through any troubles. Any thoughts on this? Thanks!

I don't believe in luck. Catching a fish the first time you go fishing was just meant to be. I mean, the fish and you were at the right place and at the right time.

There are no accidents in life. Catching the fish the first time you went fishing was meant to give you maybe because you were sad. Or perhaps to provide you something for dinner because there was no food to cook. :) Winning in the casino the first time you went was probably to provide money for something that you need or to bless someone else who was in need.

Catching the fish the first time you went fishing was meant to give you JOY maybe because you were sad. Sorry I miss typing the word JOY.

I am not very much into an agreement with this sort of statement but yes it is good to be optimistic in that way. May be we observe ourselves lucky because it is our first time and we really do not know the standards. Its all about how you see it. I am not saying you would not be lucky ever when you try for the first time but I would not want anyone to keep this an excuse for not trying again. I hope you are getting my point. Thank You

I'm not really sure of this, but I think I experienced a beginner's luck, as what it's called, when me and my husband and his friend went to a casino. He gave me $10 for the slot machine because I don't know how to paly cards. I don't even know how to work the slot machine so I just slid the money and press the levers. When I won $60, I just called the attendant and proceeded to cash it in. I think that's enough lol!
