What's the best "book find" you've ever had?

I mean in garage sales, second-hand bookstores, and the like. I've had my share of good "book finds" but the best one is when I found all 7 The Dark Tower books in one store for sale. It was roughly $10 for *all* of the books and they were all in good condition. What a find! :)

Just today, I was introduced to the "Time Squatter"-series (haven't heard the meaning they use for "squatter" yet, but I'm hoping it's the 'living on property you don't own'-way ).
Haven't actually READ the book yet, but the preview makes it sound like '-BACK TO THE FUTURE- meets Captain Planet and the Planeteers

I usually buy books during sale and all of them are paperback ones, so they are all equal to me, the best one I got is a kid's book for my son. Bought it on 80% discount and it's a music book.

I have found alot of my stephen king and dean koontz books for less then 10 dollars at this store called Ollies. I buy most of my books there whenever I visit the city. I do sometimes go to thrift stores also but not often.

I once found a stack of college psychology books. Got them for $4. I love the subject and so does my daughter and they weren't too old. Basics of the field was what I wanted. Great find.

Once I found some books that were very old that were for sale at the library where I lived at the time. They were from the early 1900s and were priced at 10 cents. I do not recall the names of them however, but it was so good to have them as antiques. I no longer have them now, I have no books only one..the Bible.

I knew someone who paid $30 for a book by David McDaniel called: The Arsenal Out of Time. I walked into a used bookstore and found a copy of the book for half price - $.25.
NOW, if you are young you probably don't know WHO David McDaniel is, but any DIE hard U.N.C.L.E. fan who read the books does!

Oh that is a great find. It has been a very long time since I have read those. I was reading this one book...you would never suspect...that was actually secretly a part of that series!!! It is called Black House. I happened upon it and thought I would check it out since it was Stephan King and low and behold..it was the sequel to Talisman.

The best book bargains I have got has been from the Library at my secondary school.Because of the limited amount of space whenever they had a consignment of new books they sold off old ones for next to nothing to students.The best find I got in one of these sales was a Sherlock Holmes book with the study in scarlet in and the sign of four it was both a great book and started my love of Sherlock Holmes.And it only cost 10p

I haven't bought a book at a garage sale...In a long time! But all I do is buy books at thrift stores - I never buy them full(retail) price - no way! I shop at the thrift store and usually get a paperback for about $1 - which is awesome. There's also a site that I have used before (a couple), one is called BookMooch and the other is called Thriftbooks - one sells them and the other one you kind of do trade-ins, which is nice. Happy reading to you!

The best book find that I ever had was at a public library where I used to live... I picked up a YA book for 25 cents called "The Only Alien On The Planet" by Kristen D. Randle. Best 25 cent investment - Ever. This book changed the way that I looked at my life in many ways, I swear it.. and I often share this book with others by purchasing them a copy.

I love rummaging through Book Sale when I have extra money. The best purchase I've made there was a hard bound "The Da Vinci Code" which was sold for only PhP150. It was in the best possible condition, almost brand new that I couldn't let it pass.

My best find then was at a book sale back in 2008. I found the book "Revolutionary Wealth" by Alvin Toffler. It is a continuation of his book "The 3rd wave". The book discusses about how society has evolved from the 1st wave agrarian society to the industrial 2nd wave society, and by the introduction of computers, Toffler has foreseen how society will evolve from the 1970's, 1980's, and 1990's. The post industrial age he called the 3rd wave society. He gives an in-depth discussion how the 2nd wave industrial society will be challenge by the realities created daily transitioning to the 3rd wave post-industrial society, the era of information.

I used to get some second hand books when I was at school, some of them it used to be so expensive, so I decided to get all the books in that way because I wanna have the possibility to study. I bought them on a library that used to work in that way. Of course, they showed you the book state and you had the opportunity to accept them or refuse it. And they had very good prices. Have a good day

Buh, that's an awesome sale. I've never really had a really good book find, sadly. Half the time I can't even find the book that I want, never mind find it on sale. ;;
There was a book that I bought when I was a kid that was mislabelled and I got it cheaper because of that, but that's about it really.
