Police saw a tweet about a user claim to make a shooting in a theater, where Mike Tyson would do a one - man show. This mysterious user claim to make it a sequel just like the one in Colorado, and that just make the police enforcement nervous. Now, the authority request twitter to disclosed this person's information from twitter's account, but twitter spokesperson once again refuse to do so. Maybe the police should apply some sort of subpoena from the court, twitter must submit that user's information to help police to track down that criminal, to deter another shooting happen. So, do you think twitter had done the right thing or not?

It could go either way here. I'm glad that twitter stood up for their own laws and protected this person's privacy but on the other hand I can see where the police are coming from. After this kind of thing happens copy cats pop up everywhere and no one wants that to happen. It was the same after 9-11, everyone was so touchy that if you mentioned bomb in an email you were considered a terrorist...

Wow, this is indeed a nice topic to discuss with. If I have to put myself as the twitter spokesperson- I will stick with the by laws (twitter rules and regulation) I understand- as the saying goes that - there is always an exemption. Honestly, do you believe that everyone who registered on twitter or any social sites are giving true/real information? Again, I understand IP address can be traced once we signed up/registered. But, then again- there is always a way to changed the IP address (hackers do) I admit, this is not an easy thing to do. I guess, twitter and authorities need to reconcile on this matter before something might happen (again- no no not again):xxxx
