Hey everyone, I have 2 young boys, 2 yrs and 11 mos and a 17 month old. They both love Toopy and Binoo very much they will stop whatever they are doing to watch this cute little show. A few months ago I noticed an episode where Toopy (the male mouse) was dressed up as a fairy princess granting fairy godmother wishes. I did not know what to think about this, I personally do not agree with a kids tv shows having boys dressed up as girls or vise versa. I just changed the channel, I noticed another episode where Toopy was pretending to be a pricess that kisses the frog and had lipstick and heels on, which again I did not agree with. So now when I watch toopy and binoo I change the channel at those parts but I really do not find this right. I wouldn't say I am homophobic or dislike cross dressers or anything like that but I would not be comfortable if my sons were to involve themselves in this type of nature. I think that by showing this type of behaviour on tv children will be use to seeing this and believe it is ok for them to do it too. I just feel it would be better to leave this up to the parents to teach them about these matters. But then again tv programming has changed drastically in the past 20 years. Where do you stand with this type of programming and these situations.
