Just this morning i was looking at the news and reading still about the flood because of the monsoon in Metro Manila. It is heart breaking to think a lot of still suffering and the flood is not subsiding and its still raining... so it is really sad. But a lot is also helping and Filipinos is at their best..showing that somehow there are so many heroes around us.. i saw a picture of a man saving his dogs and puppies! He put the puppies in a pail..and the bigger ones are already on the roof..where the water still did not reach this is the link to it https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=458436197520284&set=a.419786484718589.98184.111697372194170&type=1&ref=nf ( not referral and this is not a game poll! ) well it is really heart warming to know that such a man is really kind hearted and to think he would risk his life to save the dogs and puppies.. i also saw this picture being passed around facebook that the prisoners in Muntinlupa are donating their food to be given to the flood victims because their families are part of those victims of the flood...i am not sure how this is done, but i really hope some how this is true.. and that it is soooo good to know their heart is still that good. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=398328660227129&set=a.117042931689038.15081.105531639506834&type=1&ref=nf (not a referral link again) i also saw one rescuer who used whatever means to save a baby. We are not equipped here therefore our people use whatever means they could to save people... and this picture shows it..which is really really brave for him and it warms my heart knowing he saved that baby https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=381888568544782&set=a.312198852180421.73701.100001709251857&type=1&relevant_count=1&ref=nf ... there are a lot out there actually and i know i could not post it all here... there were also police men saving senior citizens, carrying them at their back..just so they will not have to thread the flood. I know police men here do have bad image but at this time, they were able to somehow uplift their image by saving these people and risking their lives.. a lot of true and genuine people at times like this, so heart warming... my prayers are still out for all of them.

Or at its worst, just to divert your point of view to the negative side of the discussion at hand. For example, one of the biggest problem of the rescuers is that the people they wanted to rescue from their homes doesn't want to leave. And the normal reason for this is that they're houses might get robbed by unscrupulous Filipinos who didn't mind others but only themselves. There are maybe few but these few are the one who are giving the bad image to Filipinos. I just heard from the news last Wednesday that a house (belonging to a foreigner) was robbed in the middle of the night in the middle of a heavy rain. The worst of it is that it was already flooding knee deep when the incident happens. Instead of helping others during this times of crisis, it sometimes brings the worst.

Yes were discussing just that here in the office, the reason that some do not want to leave is that their things might be gone after they leave and it is the only property they possess..which is sad as there are still bad ones among us that take advantage of the situation, so sad.

Yes Jazel very sad, I'm a victim too here the water came inside my house almost above my knees and I have to put my stuff upstairs. I just thought this is only rain and flood we can beat them as long we have a strong faith in God.

Yeah. In this time of calamity, we are all brothers and sisters. Every little people can help whether it's a small or big help. Everything is welcome. I hope in the coming days the rain will slowly lessen and we can all recover from this calamity.

It's really sad and heartbreaking to see the news on tv, and actually everywhere. I immediately thank God that we are far away from that calamity. But it's also worrying to know that a part of Davao had also experienced flash flood (is it last year or the other year?) which also killed some people. Last night, it rained hard here in Davao and I didn't sleep until it stopped. It made me paranoid to fear the rain seeing what it has done to Luzon. When the rain started in Luzon, it was also hot and sunny here. If I need to describe it further, it really burns your skin when you are under direct sunlight even in just a few seconds. But I never complained. I even thanked that even the sun gave excessive heat to Mindanao, we are still lucky enough. Like you, I also hope Mr. Sun will now go there and give them sunshine... I pity the babies and the little children. I hope and pray they are all okay...

Have you ever thought about moving to another country to better your situation in case it floods again? I mean the US or Australia nearby are always options.
