It would be a long story to tell and I am going to tell it here in brief.I had been a stammerer when I was in either school or college. The speech trouble accompanied me since the age of 5 and I could get rid of it not before I crossed 27 th year of my age. Thus I was a laughing stock for my classmates and some of my teachers and lecturers. So much so that I was unable even to respond to my roll call. This inability resulted in shortage of percentage in attendance. After years of depression and suffering fro inferiority complex,a man came to my rescue. He was our teacher. It was he who helped me restore my lost self confidence.
But this bitter experience taught me to be sympathetic to others who are in trouble. Now I don't laugh at anybody, because I know it hurts him or her.

Those people who ridicule others, do they know what they do hurts? I can understand children because they do it instinctively, having not acquired the ability to consider. But for adults to do that, intending to make fun of other people's shortcoming, they should be shameful of themselves.
I salute for your pain in taking in their insults. Your experience will make you stronger as a person. May God have mercy on everyone of us to have the wisdom to always think of the feelings of others.

Absolutely right, jkct. My experiences were certainly bitter and depressing, but,as you have said, they have made me stronger and abler to face the downs of life. Now I know that life is not a bed of roses and we have to face downs as well. And now I am strong enough to take them head on.
Thanks for an encouraging, excellent comment.Have a nice day ahead.

I was a person that was picked on from time to time when I was a child and that made me become a person that would be a person that would help others when they were in need or hurting. As a person that was laughed at from time to time, I know how much it hurts for someone to laugh at you. I would rather be a person that would take some time out of my day to kneel down and help a person pick up the things that they had dropped than to be one of the heartless people that will point and laugh at a person that is hurting.

I don't every remember laughing at anyone because of a misfortune. Come to think of it, I don't ever remember misfortunes happening in school.

I do not try to laugh at someone because they are really in need of that. One is doing something wrong when they try to laugh at something.People may get hurt,so be the helping one is cool and of course i think be that kind of person can bring you leisure and feel more happiness.Have a nice day.

Well my school days always make me sad, I have had so much fun back then. Life has changed a lot now. Well and no one will have enough strength to type it all out into one message. But what i remember the most is how my friends trapped me into a meeting with the girl who had i crush on me while i was waiting for the girl i had a crush on. Now it seems hilarious but back then i was furious. I ended up giving her the flowers and going out with her, she became one of my closest friends. My crush did not last with me long enough but she remained but my side a long time. School life is full of promises and adventure and surprises. Those are the years we are most imaginative and are to be enjoyed. We all miss them

I was always very empathetic--that is, I have the curse of feeling what other people are experiencing whether it is pain or pleasure. So I was a helper and defender. I was bullied all through my school days. I am only now, late in life, ready to try to forgive those cruel people who drove me to try to kill myself then laughed about it. I cannot imagine how such people come to be that way. They must have gone through something horrible. No sweet memories for me about school, just relief that it is over.

From my memory, I was totally a silent boy and never mingled with many of my friends. I had a limited chosen friends and they were my whole world. At that time and even now also I used to think how I could do it. Even my mom used tell me that you need to mingle with many other students and get acquainted with everyone.
Any way, I think my nature was good and fine. Even after so many years also, all those selected fiends are in different parts of the world and we are good friends now and are in touch with each other. Even now also, if we get a chance to meet together, we used to go to those places where we were used to meet. You given a nice chance to go back to those memorable moments.

I was never the bully at school, but I have been victim of them and witnessed others being bullied at school as well. It is a sad thing, those days we never had any intervening of anyone either. It was overlooked as just a kid thing and if you were bullied the teacher's did nothing. Nowadays they are somewhat more aware and I guess the good teachers might do something. I have never laughed at anyone at school but remember being laughed at a few times in particular by one jerk of a kid. He was popular but I could tell alot of the girls thought he was a jerk and he often got the cold shoulder kind of from them. I saw him after when I was like in my late 20's or so again one time and did the same as those girls, haha. He was so friendly and came up to me and said hello. I didn't want anything to do with him even now. People remember things like that when you are mean to them as kid even if they were kids too.

I think its pretty normal to laugh at a person stumbling randomly. However, the most important thing would be what do you do after laughing.

Tushavi, what you said is really a sweet memory. Well, when I was a school student, when my classmates are in trouble, I would help them with no hesitation. Helping others often made me very happy. And I think most of the people are nice around us, the bully ones are just few people.

school the best part of every person life .. whom most of the people miss after passing out . and every place has good and bad people it depend on you how you make reputation among them weather you want to be a cool dude a gangsta or a mama's child.
and as you ask that if a person fall down will i help him obviously i will help him after I stop laughing .. and most of the people playing team sport don't help each other when they fall down .. I think this is against sportsmen spirit .

My instinct is to grab that person and help him or her up. I don't see why i should laugh at someone having an accident. Especially if it was made to intentionally embarrass the person.

I was not a bully in school. I was in a group of good friends and we were all good, nice boys who were always helpful and cheerful. Maybe I was lucky that in my school days there were not any true bullies as we were quite friendly to each other. There were some guys who did have some kind of attitude and liked to show off. What we did was to avoid them and treated them as being transparent. My high school days are the best times of my life. What I am having in my life now are all originated from those days.

Hmm.. This topic is something to talk about. I am sure many dark secrets would come out in this discussion as to who was a bully in his/he school days & who wasn't... Well, for my part, I've never been a bully. I actually used to be on the receiving end of one particular bully. I used to hate it like hell...
Anyway, in my school years, I used to be the one to help students. I never hurt anyone neither with my words nor physically. Actually, I never had a "bullying" body. I was a "nerdy" dude..

I've never been in the IT crowd, never been a cool kid... (I wasn't really bullied but they sometimes mocked me in the first years for my studying hard, but later they admired me). So I didn't really have the situation like this, to decide whether I'm gonna be a bully or a helper. I think I would've been that person who was going to try to help the kid as long as I could.

Much depends on who's that boy or girl, if he's my friend, I'm gonna laugh and if she's my friend and a total stranger, I'm going to help her.It also depends upon the situation, what if someone fell down and in critical condition? of course, I don't have enough time to laugh, instead I'm going to help. You sure have a nice memories during your school days.
