Is it just me, or is it really annoying...

when someone near you coughs or sneezes without covering their mouth?
Yep, this neighbor who just passed me by, going out our gate, me going in, just let loose a big sneeze right beside me. Didn't even bother to cover it up.
And she looks at me as if asking me why I didn't say "Bless you."
As if!

It is not you. It is really really annoying, and oh, I am not even counting the health issues that go with it. That is just very inconsiderate. I know we have weird nuances, but this just does not cut it. Sneezing and coughing without covering your mouth is just plain gross. I think it should be penalized.

Yes it is really annoying and I really get pissed off of people not thinking of others when they are in public places or area with many people around. i myself gets colds or flu easily so when someone near me coughed out or sneezed then 100 percent sure Ill be having flu the next day.

Exactly, not all of us have a high immunity against common colds and the like. And some of us even have bad colds at the first exposure to the virus. They didn't even consider how hard it is for others if they got sick because of their inconsiderate ways.

There's an old saying,"Coughs and Sneezes spread diseases"....It's true,so it's both inconsiderate and unhealthy just to let rip with a sneeze around others without using a tissue or trying to avoid blasting those others..

It's more disgusting than annoying, but yes it is annoying. It can get on you and make you sick and your not bad for not saying bless you after she sneezed practically on you.

Yes it is disgusting. I hate that. I have someone here who coughs up a lung day and night and I doubt he holds his mouth every time. No one will tell him to cover it, either. He has so much "power to do everything he wants to" here it is sickening. But if dad or me does it she is all over us and reminding us to cover our mouths and we hardly ever cough. I sneeze and cough, but most always hold my mouth unless it is so sudden that I don't have a chance to or if my hands are full, which rarely happens.

Well, I guess the reason why I wasn't able to actually tell her what I think of what she did is because she's my elder; and I'm sort of trying to avoid to have any friction with her because she can be really nasty and the way how she orders around her daughter and son in law is like she owns the whole place. I don't think I would be that silent if she happens to be my age.

It also annoys me. But sometimes I have to let it pass specially if the person looks at me in apology though he/she didn't say anything and give me a very shy smile. I myself is guilty at times of doing this but I make it a point that if ever I have a cold, I always have a hankie handy. Good you brought this up because we can't tell the whether. Sometimes it's hot then sometimes it's not so we tend to catch a cold at this time.

Well, whatever it is that she have I hope I don't get it. If ever I have to do this and I have no hankie, I can always turn around and face the other way just so I wouldn't "spray" my stuff to someone else. Then again, there's always my hands and I can just wash my hands or apply sanitizer. Anything just to avoid exposing my tonsils that way, lol!

Hi,
This is really annoying in my opinion. I have encountered several people like this specially when traveling by public transport. People do not seem to understand that they are spreading germs and bacteria through such an irresponsible action. If someone I know does this, I always give them a reminder though they might not like it. I have actually found some people paying heed and getting used to the habit of covering their mouth when sneezing or coughing because I told them to. This makes me happy as even if they got irritated at first, they at least made a point to follow up on the advice. I hope you could tell your neighbor politely and hope that she listens once and for all! Happy Mylotting!

Ha ha! That is annoying even for me. If someone I do not know, coughs in front of me I would frown. But if someone I know does that to me, I'll give him or her a lecture lol

Hi friend, this kind of activities is really annoying, i wonder why your neighbor don't ask sorry to you for her activity? All the well mannered persons always cough or sneeze by closing their mouth

yeah it is all about manners. some people ignore these things. It is good manners to cover mouth with hand because there is so many germs one is sneezing out and ia totally unhealthy not to cover. I get annoyed with such behavior as well. thanks for sharing, have a wonderful day.

Well, some people do like that. I don't like that kind of people. I also hate the people who spit anywhere. When I ride a bike, someone rides before me spits on the road, when it is windy, the spit can come to me, it's really annoying. I hate that, but I can't say anything out of politeness.
