I thought you were a good writer and blogger in other sites. You should bear in mind that many are reading what you have been writing here and some critics could follow up what you have been responding if it suits their taste or not. Some even questions the validity where you got your answers. You should be ready to all these queries.

I am not asking you for a duel or a challenge but I am just answering your queries about how to make good responses to make good followers. We are here to make opinions and questions to make the community lively.

Articles of 500 words -- no no. maximum 40/50 words. that will make it crisp and effective.

Were? WERE? Good sir, I call you to a duel! I am a good writer! I work on Experts Column too! But it's different to write here and on a blog. I shouldn't make people bored with long texts. I don't believe people come to Mylot to read my problems in 500 word articles.

According to what I have read before, longer replies can get you more cents :) Making longer but fewer replies can give you actually more money. I am not so sure if this is true though. Happy mylotting!

this comment and this discussion is teaching me a lot. I myself do not know how to answer in a very lengthy way because I am a woman of few words . thank you for the information and starting today I will try and make my comments longer but still with sense

MyLot is not about quantity. That word is never mentioned anywhere in the FAQs or other pages where myLot explain to us what they require here. MyLot is a discussion site and it is QUALITY which wins over quantity every time here

You need to make more time for MyLot it sounds like! And also pick discussions that actually catch your interest. It also helps to ask more.. in depth questions. Not just starting discussions like "What's your favorite color?" (or something like that - just an example). I come up with a lot of discussions just from things I read or every day life. Mine usually ends up being TOO long though - so long that no one wants to read them! He he! Happy MyLotting!

Well thanks! I try to avoid making short questions and tell my story before asking something. I really like asking because I get very good advices. But I can't give a too long comment for a short reply.

welcome to mylot. we can write a paragraph on any topic if we answer the following for:
WHAT
WHEN
WHY
WHO
WHERE
WHICH
HOW
About any topic we can write at least a paragraph. Who 'warned' you? When did you get that warning? Was it after any particular discussion you can remember? Why are you writing very briefly? Are you not aware that we earn more when we write more? It is good you are thinking on these lines to improve your writing. good day.

I should know these as a student journalist. I was just typing around and didn't checked if I answer or tell anything good or new. There are very long conversations around, people have many things to tell.

Maybe you should add some friends on mylot first. And then make more reponses to other topics. Good luck.

That is a very good idea. However I only accept friend invitation to people who I spoke before. I'm not that kind who have 1000 friends but only 10 real friends. When I'm talking about my friends on Mylot I go for quality :)

yes. I agree with you. Instead of responses being one/two sentences it can be made into three or four sentences. then we may be able to communicate more and others will also read.

I'm afraid a very long answer won't be read by Mylotters. I could only repeat the same thought over again.

People prefer to read longer sentences. Ok I believe people are lazy to read and aren't nice :D This site showed me completely different view.

It is not quantity but quality which contributes to better earnings. If your responses are relevant and to the point, there is no need to ramble on and on to make them longer if all you are doing is repeating the same thing.
Then you should follow up with comments when others add to your responses/comments because that is what discussing is about and discussing is what we earn for here on myLot.

I don´t think that "hurry" and a social site go together. I always imagine mylot as if I was coming to a party. You don´t go to a party in a hurry nor talk in a hurry at a diner time with guests. If you take yor time to think about what´s being said, enjoy it and tell us your views about the discussion, you will have quality posts or answers. Some will be longer, some won´t. It´s the same as with any coversation with friends. Welcome!

At the bottom of your earnings page it states: "participation and referral earnings last updated 48 minutes ago" so you should see your earnings for your activity up until myLot's last midnight now. Patience is a virtue

I think that you have to find a discussion that you know a lot about and also chat about it in great detail.I only answer discussions that really catch my eye. There are a few people that do a discussion, that is more like a question and they are so hard to write a long response to, how ever you can ask the person that started the discussion things as well in your reply.

You just have to say what you think. Just be free and everybody has their own opinion and everybody has the right to say it. You will really enjoy mylot.

I remember my teacher in college gave us an idea in writing. He said when wrting, we should compare it to a skirt of a woman. Long enough to cover the subject ang short enough to call attention. While it is true that we should write descriptively, we should also make sure that the reader won't get bored and drop the topic.

Remember, here it's not about quantity but quality and the best thing I can tell you to do is to stop and think about your response. Even if you can only make one at a time, when you have time, if it is a good one you will probably earn as much as you would if you did a whole bunch of half witted small ones across a lot of discussions.
Find discussions you really want to talk about (or start one) and keep at it. Think about what you want to say and if all you can think of is, "Um Yeah I agree." Then explain WHY you agree, and why you feel the way you do. Or if you don't agree, of course!
Some short answers are okay too, if you keep them far and few between. Sometimes a discussion requires no more than a one or two liner, but that's okay too.
You'll find your speed and your time, we all seem too!

Indeed. And if I can't find a good topic I can make one. I like this some of my topics are pretty successful. But they didn't reach the top yet.

Say whatever the heck is on your mind on the issue. That's what I normally do, but then I refrain from the saying the things that are too stupid. It works, its like freewriting.

Write what's in my mind without thinking?
I think I should make a spam filter you know I can write very crazy thinks. This is site isn't that crazy. The other thing I like is to ask everything! I get good infos for free :D
