Still Hanging on to XP

As technology advances we often toss aside very useful tools, and brand them "obsolete". It is common practice within our society, to move on the "next big thing." Keeping in mind, what great advancements we have seen in recent years, many people would say XP is a dying operating system. However, as I believe with many things, this is nothing but ignorance, and mildly influenced by propaganda.
Now sure, Windows 7 has alot of new features, and looks great - but it lacks some features that only XP brings to the table. I feel this maybe due to possible abuse by some advanced users. It is a real shame as XP is still a highly valuable program, even if Microsoft is trying to push it literally into the garbage.
I have purchased a laptop due to the need for a mobile computer, which ofcourse, runs a Windows 7 Operating System. That being said, my desktop still runs XP, and for many reasons.
Windows XP came with stock tools, and programs that for some reason no longer function with Windows 7. Even though they did work with Vista, if you used a USB.
Now W7 does not totally ignore these programs, it merely has its own upgraded replacement. Microsoft has made it harder to use alot of its features, that advanced users desire in Windows 7. While the PC has always been user-friendly (arguable otherwise) It seems that if your wanting to do more with your computer, you have to hunt around a bit.
An example being the built-in internal recording device, is by default active on your XP, and will take 2-5seconds to start using.
However on Windows 7 you must explore and activate the "default" drive.
Now I am not sure if this is consistent with laptops/desktops running Windows 7, so if anyone would like to add onto this, or correct me in that statement, it will be welcomed.
But even so, as time presses on I will be hanging on to my XP for a very long time.

I actually had a laptop I downgraded from vista to xp. I think xp is much better compared to vista. I'm not sure about the windows 7, though.
