What is a sponsor in clixsense?

Hi guys. I have a question. What is a sponsor in clixsense? Is that the same with referral? Because I know I just went to the clixsense website to sign up. I do not recall clicking a referral link. I usually sign up as a referral from my friends here on mylot or from my friends in school.

Yes that's exactly it. I think someone "bought" you in clixsense since you didn't have any sponsor. That makes you his rented referral.

Hi,
A sponsor is a person who refer other people to Clixsense or any other site and those people are his referrals or affiliates. A sponsor and a referral is not one and the same thing. Many sites use cookies and probably Clixsense too(I'm not sure) but in the members area every Clixsense member has the option to promote one of the 3 affiliate pages: one with your username on it, one with your name on it and one without these info. So, even if you didn't see any username I'm sure someone referred you too(you are a referral for someone else).
