Alternative taco meat

The last year or so I have been making taco's using ground spiced turkey meat I buy at the store and a prepackaged taco seasoning mix. It taste great and is lower in fat than beef taco's. However, surprisingly when I eat a beef taco now it doesn't taste right and I end up with an upset stomach. Has anyone else had this reaction? My husband loves beef taco's and won't eat the turkey ones I make so about once a week he makes a taco dinner, usually he makes both beef and turkey but it has become a chore to make two different variations. Does anyone have an alternative to the turkey/beef taco, that has the taste of beef my husband wants but has the lower fat that I want?

I often make tacos with black beans instead of meat. 1 can Black Beans 1 cup corn (frozen or canned) 1 can tomatoes some garlic, onion, cilantro, jalapenos, whatever else you like to flavor it up. Also a bit of taco seasoning. It's great as a hard or soft taco with cheese, salsa, and sourcream. Deeeelicious, and a great healthy vegetarian option. Also ridiculously cheap and makes a large amount.

Black beans! I love black bean tacos, and while they taste somewhat different, they are healthier. Also, try chicken strips, not like the chicken nugget kinds, but the ones you find in salads.

I like tacos with both turkey or beef.To me it is the seasoning that makes a good taco. Morning Star has a vegetarian product called griller crumbles. It is Ground Beef Meatless Alternative. It is textured vegetable protein, wheat gluten, corn oil, water, yeast extract, and a blend of meatless seasonings and spices to give the product its distinct flavor. You really can;t taste the difference. You just make the tacos the same as if you were using ground beef or ground turkey. Some stores have it in the freezer section and some have it in the produce sections. Here is a site to get a coupon for it if your interested http://www.freesnatcher.com/100-off-coupon-for-morningstar-farms-products/
