Fun with Dry Ice?

Earlier today I got a free bag of dry ice from my job since there was excess dry ie necessary to ship an item. Earlier, I put some of it into a bottle that is half-full, closed it, and threw it as far as I could. Needless to say, I had a lot of light fun scaring a couple of neighbors with the loudness of the sound. Anyone else have some suggestions to make it last?

To keep dry ice from evaporating I think you have to wrap it up in a lot of newspapers and put it in a styrofoam cooler or something that's insulated. Don't seal it too tight or it might burst open. Don't use plastic - I forget why. You better look it up, because there might be more you have to do. I just can't remember it all.

I think you can make instant ice-cream with dry ice. I'm not sure if it was dry ice or liquid Nitrogen, you you can take a plastic zip pack, put full cream milk in it, add vanilla essence in it (and some sugar, if you wanna). Seal it, real tight. Now, take a larger zip pouch/bag and fill it with dry ice. Put the smaller bag into the larger bag, and keep shaking it. In a few minutes, you'll see that the milk is solidifying. Scoop it up, and enjoy your homemade ice-cream!

I have no idea how to make dry ice last longer. All I know is that it is would be lost in the air as it melts because it is made up of carbon monoxide in frozen state. You could still enjoy it by using it to as a power charger to all your used batteries to recharge it all.I have read in some columns that using some dry ice to recharge your batteries is very effective that the power when you buy it from the counter is actually restored as if brand new products. You can use dry ice store your ice cream keep freezing even without refrigeration.
