I've noticed this happen more than once. When I'm about to get my period it seems like my stomach is bloating. Is there medical information that supports this or am I just getting fat? :(

Hello mylotter, women have different symptoms before their period. maybe that is your symptoms. For me i have this headache before menstruating. That is called PMS or pre-menstrual syndrome. If you think it is getting worse and unusual, medical attention is badly needed.

Yes, it is normal. Before my period i do also experience it. I feel less sexy and attractive but after my period my abdomen become 2x flatter(for a week). I do also observed that when period about to come i tend to gain weight, i starve a lot so i munch often. Loosing weight is often a problem. I'm not fat but i do have belly fats. And i hate it!

hi Casey, Bloating during menstrual period is normal and also during menstrual period abdominal bloating and swollen ankles are also typical. So don't worry about it. Just consider taking less sodium rich foods to avoid these problems. Exercise regularly (three to five times a week) to help rid your body of excess fluids. Also, increase your intake of high-fiber foods - fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, nuts and seeds - to help prevent constipation. and lastly, get enough rest. Your body may have different sleep requirements at different times during your menstrual cycle. I hope these will help you.. Happy mylotting:)
