Food Addictions

August 10, 2012 5:15am CST
Through my personal experience and research I have discovered that the following killer food addictions come about firstly by emotional state or strange feelings at a point of time, secondly, day to day activities or daily pursuits. Thirdly, eating habits or ingestion and finally because of eating high carbohydrate foods or starches. Could someone give some positive or negative views of the above please. Thank you.

WE all need to eat carbohidrates everyday if we want to live well. But as with everything, the problem is the amount of carbs we take. Anxiety is one of the reasons why many people overeat. Unfortunatly, the worst foods (junk foods) fill the commercials on TV and everywhere. I`m sure that if we were taught to eat celery or carrot snacks instead of greasy food, things would be different.

I have had a food addiction in the past, and I will admit that it is something that I have struggled with. Since I was young, my parents have always used food as a reward, and that had made me think that every time something good happened, I need food in order to get me through. However, I am now learning that this is not the case, and that food does nothing other than fuel your body. You should not be using food to make yourself happy, because it is not going to work in the long term. You should find other things to do when you're bored or feeling down, and this should mean that you can move on from your food addiction and find other ways to cope instead.

Yes it's true that food is addicting and can even start you craving depending on your mood. I personally spend for shakes when I get depressed and just enjoy my food.
